Put on The Armor of God for Battle-Breastplate of Righteousness (Part 3)

breastplate-of-righteousness1

Ephesians 6:14b (Part 3)

righteousness like armor on your chest,

The breastplate protects the heart, stomach, liver, lungs and all the soldier’s vital organs . When a person puts their trust and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, Jesus’ righteousness gets imputed (2 Corinthians 5:21) into the person’s account (life) as if they lived Jesus’ life and the person gets the breastplate of righteousness. Now that the Lord gave us the breastplate, we must wear it everyday especially since we as Christians are always in a battlefield. We wear the breastplate by living a life of obedience to the Word of God. We must always be ready, for the enemy is consistently on the lookout to see if we have the Armor of God on or if there’s a piece of the Armor that’s off. Like in real battle, the enemy will wait at nothing to aim at the unprotected body part, in this case let’s say you don’t have your breastplate which is one of the most important piece of armor you could ever have. If an arrow hits you in one of your major organs like the heart, that will be your demise. The arrows of Satan are deception and your heart is the core of your feelings. The enemy will attack your feelings to draw you away from the Lord by falling in love with a woman who’s not a Christian (this happen with King Solomon, 1 Kings 11:4), give you nice friends who don’t seek the Lord, gives you a job that makes you do things that goes against God’s Word. These are some of the reasons why we cannot be driven by our hearts (feelings) because it can be misleading and dangerous. We must be driven by the Word of God for it will always lead us into all righteousness and teaches us the way to please the Lord and to do His will.

Jeremiah 17:7-9

7 The man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed. 8 He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit. 9 The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable—who can understand it?
