Would you trust Jesus to provide for you when it seems impossible?

Wine jug with bread and fish

John 6:5-11

5 Therefore, when Jesus looked up and noticed a huge crowd coming toward Him, He asked Philip, “Where will we buy bread so these people can eat?” 6 He asked this to test him, for He Himself knew what He was going to do. 7 Philip answered, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread wouldn’t be enough for each of them to have a little.” 8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, 9 “There’s a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish—but what are they for so many?” 10 Then Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, so they sat down. The men numbered about 5,000. 11 Then Jesus took the loaves, and after giving thanks He distributed them to those who were seated—so also with the fish, as much as they wanted.

When you find yourself with the impending depletion of your basic needs, do not worry for He is testing you. Jesus is about to do something in your life that in the eyes of this world is impossible so that God may receive all the glory through your testimony. Your testimony will show that the Lord you serve is the True Living God and He helps those who are His and through that, He will bring people to Himself. A denarius was a day’s wage and not even 200 of that would have fed 5000 men. Jesus’ power has no limit and with 5 loaves and 2 fish, He revealed His true nature which is God. Jesus loves you and wants for you to learn not to worry but to know that He will never leave you nor forsake you. If you find yourself in this situation, continue to be faithful to the Lord, by reading His Word, doing what it says and giving Him thanks because He is a God that loves you and will see you through it.

  1. He’s done this plenty of times. Even when I was not His follower. Yes I believed in Him but had no faith. I’d say please God help me and He did but I never praised Him or anything. Now there are times when my account should read 0 but somehow the money stretches. Hmmm..I wonder who that was? Lol. He’s always going to be faithful, so I must be faithful as well. Amen? AMEN!

You are absolutely right, the Lord is good even when we are far from Him. Even when you were far from Him He helped you to show you how much you mean to Him. I know when the time came and you became His follower, you praised Him for it. You will never forget His goodness. That was a great testimony and inspires me to continue to trust Him because He is faithful and loving. Thanks for sharing.

      1. I can’t praise Him enough. I get all choked up just thinking of all the goodness He has spread throughout my life and continues to do so. We must trust Him because He is the way, the truth, and the life. Amen.
