Reading the Bible and Praying daily makes a Christian’s faith grow
1. Read the Bible daily
This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.
2 Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the “knowledge” of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
The Greek word for “Knowledge” is ep-ig’-no-sis meaning full discernment which also means to become thoroughly acquainted with, to know thoroughly. The more you know of scripture the more your mind gets transform to the mind of Christ so that in all things you will do what pleases Him and live a godly life.
2. Pray everyday without failure. Every believer’s spiritual life depends on it.
Prayer is a way of doing God’s will. Have knowledge of scripture will help you pray according to what the Bible says (which teaches you what pleases God).
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
He then told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not become discouraged:
1 John 5:14
Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Even after you pray for something or for someone and you feel that the Lord hasn’t answered you, don’t give up because when you prayed, the Holy Spirit already started to work on what you prayed for (if your prayers are according to scripture).
Stay awake and pray so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Prayer keeps you from falling into the same sinful acts over and over and the way that works is because when you pray, you are asking the Lord Jesus for strength to deliver you from the sin that so easily entangles you. Since you’re praying according to scripture, He WILL deliver you from that sinful act, sometimes instantly and for others, sometimes gradually.
Now you know how to grow in the faith. If you go to the Lord with a humble spirit before His presence through prayer and reading of the Word you WILL hear from Him. He will strengthen you so you may bring Him glory, honor, and praises and in the process, He will bless you.
