Cookie a day: Don’t drift away

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

Hebrews 2:1

Attention in Greek is prosechó (pros-ekh’-o) which means I pay attention to, devote myself to. Strong’s #4337

When you neglect reading scripture for more then a week, just think about going without physical food for a week. Your body would be so weak that if anyone would decide to harm you, you won’t be able to defend yourself with your body being in starvation. Your spirit will suffer the same fate without intake of God’s Word daily…. Satan will easily defeat you. If you continue your life without digesting God’s Word, the danger of drifting away even further will continue until there’s no return. You will be so far from shore you won’t know which direction to go. Reading scripture will put you in optimum strength and keeps you close to shore.
