Cookie a day: Why Does God Allow Christians To Suffer?

19 For it brings favor if, mindful of God’s will, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is there if you sin and are punished, and you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.

21 For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps.

 1 Peter 2:19-21

Favor in Greek means kindness or a blessing that Jesus will give to those who even though they suffer, they endure it for Him. Our suffering for Jesus clearly shows men and fallen angels that no matter what happens to us we will love Jesus and never let Him go. Sufferings bring us closer to Christ, we learn to trust in His Word much more than before. Without suffering, we will never grow and stay childish. As a child spiritually you cannot do too much for the kingdom of heaven that’s why Jesus allows sufferings so that we can grow and produce much fruit for the glory of God the Father and Jesus Christ. Through our sufferings, Jesus will be the one who carries us through it so let’s take courage.
