What Is A False Prophet?

 Matthew 7:15

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.”

false-prophets-wolves

What is a false prophet? A person with the goal of destroying your faith by bringing you a message from God, using the Bible with small adjustments to make you in a subtle way to get your faith off track. The way to see this adjustment is to concentrate on the person of Jesus Christ. The false prophets will aim at Jesus because He is the source of our salvation. The deceiver wants you to believe in a different Jesus so that your prayers will be rerouted to a false Christ/demon, making your prayers ineffective to fight against the demonic forces.

Below is a list of cults that have developed a false Jesus and that He is not the only way to the Father which false prophets will introduce to deceive you, you have been warned, stay alert.

1. Jesus didn’t die on the cross. (Islam and Judaism)

2. Jesus didn’t rise bodily from the grave. (Jehovah Witnesses, Islam, and Judaism)

3. Jesus is not the Son of God (Islam, Judaism)

4. Denying the Deity of Christ that Jesus is God. (Islam, Judaism, Christadelphian, Jehovah Witnesses, and Mormonism)

5. A denial of the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Oneness Pentecostal, Jehovah Witnesses, Christadelphian, Islam, Mormonism, and Judaism)

6. Jesus was created. (Jehovah Witnesses, Mormonism, Christadelphian, Islam, and Judaism)

7. Jesus didn’t pay for your entire sins on the cross, you have to contribute to your salvation (works based salvation). (Jehovah Witnesses, Mormonism, Christadelphian, Catholicism)

8. Jesus wasn’t born from a virgin. (Judaism)

9. Jesus is not the Messiah/Son of God because He didn’t complete Old Testament prophecies. (Judaism, Islam)

10. Those who reject the inerrancy of scripture, Jesus having the title: The Word of God. (Liberal Christianity which is the following: {Presbyterian Church of the USA, Methodist, and Episcopalian}, Mormonism, and Islam)

If you belong to a congregation where one or all of what’s on the list are taught, you have found yourself to be in the presence of a false teacher who is determined to destroy your faith, so watch out!

  1. Your list only shows that our ignorance of doctrinal differences is something we need to truly be informed and aware of in order to detect the falsehood from the 99.9 Triple A counterfeits.

There are a lot of people who profess Jesus but actually believe in a false one. That is why Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

      1. My comment is not meant to be condescending, nor does it imply I’m making myself to be better than anyone else but it is the stark reality of what Jesus Himself told us. It is so important He gave us the sad scenario of what worshipping the wrong one could mean.

  2. Just to clarify things, from a Mormon perspective.

“Jesus is not the Son of God, denying the Deity of Christ that Jesus is God.”
The LDS most certainly believe that Christ is the Son of God, and in a more literal sense than any other Christian sect. As it states in our first Article of Faith: We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

“A denial of the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.”
Again, read our first Article of Faith. We do not deny any member of the Godhead, or Trinity. To clarify, we deny that these three are one entity or being.

    “Jesus was created.”
No, the LDS do not believe that Jesus was created. He has always existed and always will.

“Jesus didn’t pay for your entire sins on the cross, you have to contribute to your salvation (works based salvation).
Yes we do believe that Jesus paid the price for all our sins, though not solely on the cross. We believe that payment started in the garden and was finished on the cross. Our works do not save us from sin, nor could they. We contribute only in that our works determine what level of salvation we receive, not in acquiring salvation in the first place.

“Those who reject the inerrancy of scripture, Jesus having the title: The Word of God.”
True, we do not believe that the Bible was perfectly transmitted to us over 2,000 years exactly as it was first written by the prophets. We make a distinction between the literal word of God and the physical record of that word. So, we do believe in the inerrant Word of God, as it comes from God. But we do not believe that men’s record of that word is always without error.

Just thought I would mention it.

    1. 1.) Mormons do not believe that Jesus is God even though the scriptures clearly teaches this truth according to John 1:1,14
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

      Hebrews 1:8
8 But to the Son He says:
      “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

Even in your own book “Book of Mormon” says that Jesus is God according to Mosiah 15:1-8,11

2.) The Mormons deny the trinity because you believe in three different gods, in the Bible, it shows that all three are the same God. God is three persons but all three are the same God. We see this in Matthew 28:19 which says, 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

If you see that it uses the word “name” which is singular to describe plurality. The three are One God. Yahweh is all three. Within the Godhead are three different titles but in nature (God) are all Yahweh. Yahweh means that God never had a beginning, all three are eternal, never been created that’s what Yahweh means (Exodus 3:14-15).

You can look at it in this way for an example: You have three different cups in sizes and the three cups are filled with H2O (water). The cups look different but they contain the same water. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit contain in nature the same God Yahweh because God wants to exist in Himself as three persons. Just like fingers in a man’s hand, you have different size fingers but at the same time, the fingers can be called your hand. The fingers represent the trinity and the hand is the nature of God, what makes God, all knowing, all powerful, present everywhere, and never had a beginning.

      John 14:8-9
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

The verses above show that Jesus is God if you read the verses above, in the part where it says Father, read it with God you will see it much stronger that Jesus is God because we know in the passages that the Father means God.

By the Mormons rejecting the inerrancy of scripture, you are rejecting Jesus Christ and calling Jesus a liar. Jesus said in Matthew 5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Also in 1 Peter 1:22-25 it says, 22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because
      “All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
      The grass withers,
      And its flower falls away,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

Either you believe the Bible or you don’t and the Mormons have rejected the scriptures and invented three books in its place. The Mormons preach a different gospel which another angel (demon) has revealed it to Joseph Smith. The Bible clearly warns about anyone receiving new revelation as seen in Galatians 1:6-9 which says, 6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

My friend, you are believing a lie, the Book of Mormon, D&C and Pearl of Great Price are doctrines of demons which are a new revelation that Galatians 1:6-9 warns you about. Paul knew that angels would be disguising themselves as angels of light to deceive you in believing in a different gospel just like the Book of Mormon and the rest of your Books so that you won’t get saved. Satan can come to you as an angel of light as seen in 2 Corinthians 11:14 which says, 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

      1. 1.) “Even in your own book “Book of Mormon” says that Jesus is God according to Mosiah 15:1-8,11”

Yeah, which is why we believe that Christ is God, the Son of the Father and second member of the Godhead.
You say we don’t believe that Christ is God, but you give nothing to try and support that claim, but rather prove it false in your own comment.

2.) “The Mormons deny the trinity because you believe in three different gods”

Which I admitted, so what is your point? My only point is that we do believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The wording you used implied otherwise.

“Yahweh means that God never had a beginning, all three are eternal, never been created”

Which we also believe, so again, what is your point.

“By the Mormons rejecting the inerrancy of scripture, you are rejecting Jesus Christ and calling Jesus a liar.”

No, we are rejecting the mortal transmitters and calling them in error. The problem with this kind of argument is that fails to distinguish between the actual word of God and the record that has not only been made by men, but has been preserved, transcribed, translated, and in other ways transmitted by flawed, mortal men. So, while we believe that the words of God are inerrant, and that the doctrines that are contained in scripture are inerrant, we do not believe they are always perfectly preserved by men here on earth.
In no way is this a rejection of Christ or calling Him a liar.

“Either you believe the Bible or you don’t”

        We do.

“Mormons have rejected the scriptures and invented three books in its place.”

No, we have simply accepted that God has supplemental the Bible with additional scripture that serves to explain and prove that first and greatest work.

So it may be better if you let those who actually know the doctrine of the church to teach it, as a spreading false understanding is never helpful.

      2. You saying that Mormons believe that Christ Jesus is God is a flat out lie, no Mormon that I ever debated has ever claimed that Jesus is God they actually denied it. Yes, I know you reject the trinity and my point was to show your contradiction because to reject the trinity is to reject Jesus being God. All three of the Godhead are the same God. I’m sorry but you don’t know true doctrine but another angel gave you a different testimony of Jesus Christ which teaches you works based salvation, Jesus not being God, and the other books are even worst. You, sir, believe in a doctrine of demons. You Mormons believe that you can become gods which that was the lie from the serpent to Eve. You believe in the serpent’s lie. You believe that Elohim was human or from another planet with flash and bones so I got you in another lie because you claim Yahweh is eternal but you don’t. You do not believe Jesus is God because you believe that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers which to me that is the biggest blasphemy I have ever heard. You are very deceptive with what you claim to believe, like that’s going to work with me, at least the Mormons I spoke with were very honest but you are a different story.

I don’t know who you talked to, but I think you misunderstood.

Here is the words of the late President Hinckley declaring Christ’s divinity.
    https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2012-06-1660-jesus-was-god-the-creator?lang=eng

Of course you, being so completely unaffiliated with the church, are the expert on what we believe. So people should always listen to you over an actual member, or even the leaders of the church.

The real facts are that we disagree with your doctrine, and since you can’t conceive of anything else then to deny your doctrine is to deny God. At least that is how you think.

The LDS believe Christ is God, just as much as the Father. We believe in One God, that being the Godhead, a united governing body, comprised of three separate and distinct beings, but being one entity. I know this is a foreign concept, but until you actually understand our doctrine you should refrain from trying to teach it to others.

    1. This is very interesting that now you are claiming to believe that Jesus is God. The problem is that the Jesus that you are claiming to believe in is not the Jesus of the Bible. You believe that Elohim God had a body of flesh and bones according to D&C 130:22 which says, 22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us?

The Bible is very clear that the LORD God is Spirit according to John 4:24 which says, 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

All of the Mormons that I have spoken to concurrently say that Jesus is not God, I don’t know if you guys have divided beliefs but that is what they tell. I tell you something Hinckley says He is God which I know he believes in another Jesus but the Mormons are being taught the opposite, that’s interesting.

Hinckley has a double speech, he wants you to believe that he believes that Jesus is God in the way Evangelicals believe Him to be but I will show you that he believes in a different Jesus. Here is a statement of Hinckley saying that he doesn’t believe in the Jesus taught and preached by Christians way-way before Joseph Smith came into the picture. Joseph Smith is a false prophet and he introduced false doctrine through a demonic spirit. You can sound Christian if you want, the D&C completely disagrees with the Jesus of the Bible being eternal as well as Yahweh since he has a beginning, being human with flesh and bones according to your deceptive book. And in your doctrine, you guys teach that you can become gods. That you have not said anything about. Let me ask you a question, do you believe that you can become a god? Answer that for me, please.

    2. Forgot to include Hinckley’s statement, here it is:

“In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ.’ ‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.'” (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7).

Hi! This is Addison. What questions do you have?
      6:55 PM

      Al
      Jesus
      6:55 PM
What do you believe about Jesus Christ?

      Addison
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We believe that He lived and died for us to be saved.
      6:56 PM

      Al
      That’s good
      6:56 PM
Do you believe that Jesus is God?

      Addison
We believe in the Godhead which is made up of 3 distinct beings: God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Together, they work for the salvation of man.
      6:58 PM

      Al
Oh ok, do you believe that all three are the same God?
      6:58 PM

      Addison
No. We believe that they are three seperate beings. In Matthew 3:16-17 it shows Jesus Christ, God speaking to Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. ” 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightwayout of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened untohim, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is mybeloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
All three work together in one purpose, just as there is one basketball team made up of several players.
      7:00 PM

      Al
Oh ok, so is it right for me to say that the Mormons don’t believe that Jesus is God?
      7:02 PM

      Addison
Correct. Jesus is not God. God is our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is His Son. Both work with the same purpose. Do you have any more questions? Does that answer your question?
      7:03 PM

      Al
Thank you so much for your time for answering my questions
      7:03 PM

      Addison

And you are still making the very common error of comparing our doctrine and trying to draw conclusions. It doesn’t work.

First, I never once said we have the same beliefs regarding the nature of God or the nature of Christ. I actually very clearly stated that we do not believe in the same doctrines as you, so your continual repeating of it seems rather pointless.
The problem here is your insistence that if we don’t accept your doctrine than we can’t believe that Jesus is God. That logic is completely flawed, as it assumes that your understanding of Deity is the only understanding of deity. We believe Jesus is God, but we believe the nature of God to be very different than what you believe it to be.
There is no double talk in what President Hinckley said. We believe Jesus is God, but we do not believe in the doctrine that most Christians accept. We do not believe in the same Jesus.

However, we do believe the Bible, and our belief is supported by it. The problem here is that you confuse your interpretation of the Bible with the Bible itself. You hold your doctrine as the only possible interpretation, and thus conclude that anyone who disagrees with you can’t believe in the Bible, because to believe in the Bible is to agree with you. Again, this is flawed logic. We believe in the Bible, but we do not interpret it in the same way as you do.

As to your discussion with Addison, as I said, you simply misunderstood what was being said. As you filter everything through your own doctrine I understand the confusion, so let me explain it.
The problem is in the wording of your questions, as well as the order of them.
    1. You ask if Jesus is God. The answer given is that He is a member of the Godhead, which shows that He is God.
    2. You then asked if He is the same God as the Father. The answer is no, but it also causes a mental note in the person you are talking to that now they have to emphasize the separate being of the Father and the Son.
    3. So, when you ask if you are right in saying that Jesus is not God Addison feels relieved that you are understanding and confirms that Jesus is not the Father.
So, since you did not ask about the divinity of Christ you got an answer that you expected. You asked about our doctrine through the lense of your doctrine. You wanted to know if we have the same doctrine as you do, and so your questions were geared to that fact. It caused confusion on both sides ending in a false understanding of our doctrine.

Now, I generally prefer to keep discussions on one subject at a time, but you did ask the question “do you believe that you can become a god?”
Before I answer let me clarify, what do you mean by the word god?

    Like

    1. I’m sorry but you are lying and for some strange reason you want to go against your own people. I asked her very plainly if Jesus is God and she very plainly said that He is not God. I don’t need to be an English professor to understand Addison. Either you are a great liar or you are one confuse Mormon. Either or it can’t be both. Addison is truthful with what she believes but you are very scheming. You are trying to protect your Mormon god so much that you will even lie to me and who knows who else. Addison clearly said that the Mormons believe in the Godhead as three different beings while the Bible clearly teaches that the Godhead are the same beings. By Addison saying three different beings she is consistent in her belief that Jesus is not God. I say at least Addison is not a chameleon.

I am starting to think that you don’t even understand what “Jesus is God” even means because your disagreement with the Mormon church is astounding.

By the way, Jesus and the Father are the same God according to John 14:8-11 which says, 8 “Lord,” said Philip, “show us the Father, and that’s enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Otherwise, believe because of the works themselves.

Also in Isaiah 9:6 it says, For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
      He will be named
      Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
      Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

The verse in Isaiah 9:6 clearly says, that Jesus and the Father are the same God which Addison disagrees and she represents the Mormon church on beliefs. You are not a regular Mormon. I salute you on that though because you have a chance of salvation.

Jesus and the Father are the same God, do you understand what I’m saying? Jesus is Yahweh, Jesus is The Creator, Jesus is NOT a different God from the Father. Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit ARE the same GOD. The Godhead ARE not three different beings but the three are the same beings. Being just in case you misunderstand me means God’s nature, there is only one God not many like the Mormon teaches. If you don’t understand what I’m saying then I understand why your beliefs are so different from the Mormon church.

You asked: “Before I answer let me clarify, what do you mean by the word god?”

I just asked you a simple question. And I’m going to ask it again. Do you believe that you can become a god?

You are an unorthodox Mormon I tell you. You are the first one that has done an 180% on your Mormons beliefs. I think that it’s a good thing maybe there is a chance of you getting saved.

    2. Explain this verse to me:

      D&C 130:22

    D&C 130:22
22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.

It is fairly self explanatory. God the Father is a personage of body, as is the Son, Jesus Christ. They have physical bodies that have flesh (meaning soft tissues) and bones (hard tissues). In form they are human, as we are made in their image.
You will note that they are not flesh and blood. Blood, being the source of mortal life (Genesis 9: 4-5; Leviticus 17: 11, 14) is not a part of the immortal glorified bodies that the Father and Son possess.
This is confirmed by Christ is Luke 24: 39 when He declares “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.”

On the other hand, the Holy Ghost is a personage of Spirit. He has not, as yet, received a physical body. He remains a spirit so that He can dwell within us and communicate with our spirits directly. He is the testator, and through Him is all truth made manifest (John 16: 13).

Yes they are three separate and distinct beings, having separate bodies. Yes they are one God, being one in purpose and possessing all attributes of deity in their perfection. They are also one in that preside over all creation as the Godhead, the single ruling presidency of Heaven.

You see, the problem is not that we do not believe that Jesus is God. The problem is that we believe a God to be something whole different than what you believe. To us one cannot be a God unless they are human, possessing all good human qualities in their perfect fullness and exalted state.
We do not believe that God is something foreign to our natures and experience. We do not believe that God is wholly incomprehensible to man, because we believe He is like us, only perfect in every way.

So, I am not lying when I say that we believe Jesus is God. We would be if we said we believed He is God in the same way that you do, but that is not what I have said, and I never will.

    1. You said-“You see, the problem is not that we do not believe that Jesus is God. The problem is that we believe a God to be something wholly different than what you believe. To us one cannot be a God unless they are human, possessing all good human qualities in their perfect fullness and exalted state.”

I agree with you 100% that you believe in a different God from me. You believe in a different God than that of the Bible because you believe that Yahweh was once a man like you and me which to me is blasphemous. You do not believe in the same God as the Evangelical Christians do.

Now you make sense and I agree that Christians and Mormons don’t worship the same God. The God of the Bible was never human since He is eternal, never had a beginning but was always God (I AM who I AM found in Exodus 3 which means in Hebrew was always there no beginning). God is the creator but was never created Himself by another God. God said in
      Isaiah 43:10
10 “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me.

This verse above destroys your Book as being false. Sham, I’m asking you to receive the real Jesus of the Bible not of Mormonism because that Jesus will not save you, only the Jesus of the Bible will. I want to give you a challenge, read the Book of John in the New Testament all the way through and get to know that Jesus but not the one from your Book. How about if you and I read the Book of John together, well not physically but at the same time, a chapter a day and then we can talk about what we have read. What do you think?
