Anti-Christian Post: A Weed Writing to Wheat

Weed or Tares to the left and the wheat to the right. If you’re not a mature Christian, you won’t tell the difference

Is your life headed in the right direction? You feel fulfilled and you are thinking of finding a church then Christianity is not for you, now if this is not a weed planted next to wheat then we must redefine what a weed is. The ones that need Christ the most are those that think that their life is peachy not knowing that they are headed to hell if they don’t repent and put their faith in Jesus.

Ephesians 4:12-14

12 for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness. 14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

As Christians we must be mature in the faith and not be on milk because milk keeps us limited to God’s Word, determining what’s from the Lord and what’s not. One will be deceived easier on milk.

A so-called follower of Jesus wrote in their blog “Do NOT Become a Christian” yet in scripture we see the opposite in Acts 26:28-29 which says, 28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Are you going to persuade me to become a Christian so easily?” 29 “I wish before God,” replied Paul, “that whether easily or with difficulty, not only you but all who listen to me today might become as I am—except for these chains.”

Paul was trying to convince his audience to become Christians which means a follower of Jesus Christ. Do you see the contradiction of this person’s title “Do NOT Become a Christian?” It is not only a contradiction but unBiblical and twisting the meaning of Christian.

What the person said-“Are looking for something to fulfill your life?  Need a list of laws to follow?  Are you a good person?  Are you rich?  Is your life put together and you want a church?”

Let me be the first to assure you, Christianity is NOT for you.”

Wow, how much more can you do to push a person away from Christ other than what this person is doing?

If a person wants to be fulfilled in their life, Christianity is not for you, really? How absurd, let’s see what the scripture says:

Psalms 4:7

You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine abound.

Psalms 17:15

But I will see Your face in righteousness; when I awake, I will be satisfied with Your presence.

Psalms 30:11

You turned my lament into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness

For some strange reason, the person thinks that Christians are under the Law, It tells me that the person didn’t understand that the Law was fulfilled in Christ (not the moral Law but the ceremonial).

 Colossians 2:14

14 He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.

The certificate of debt, with its obligations, was to follow the whole Law without breaking one of them which is impossible so Christ lived it perfectly for us so we don’t have to because we can’t. Two things happened when we believed in Jesus:

1.His righteousness gets credited to our account.
2.He took our sins and put it upon Himself and paid the ultimate price.

This is the last quote from the person’s post

“And ladies and gentleman, the very miracle is that God himself reaches out his hand and extends an invitation. And the church of religion kindly declines, “No thank you.  I’m doing just fine on my own.”

Really, so this person with a broad-brush sweeps all Christians who go to church and say that they are religious, as though it’s something bad but let’s see what the Bible actually says, about being religious because scripture will explain what true religion means.

James 1:27

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

The word religion is tainted with work-based salvation but according to James a religious person is one that loves his neighbor as himself and lives a life of holiness by obeying God’s Word.

  1. This lady reminds me of someone else who appears to “love” the Lord but easily said she is no longer an Evangelical because of the election. I mean, Evangelical is synonymous with “Born Again Christian”… Sheesh… For someone to say, “Don’t be a Christian” is literally saying, “Don’t be a follower of Jesus Christ.”

Apparently these people DO NOT understand the label “Christian.” Wow. Is all I can say.

Any thoughts?
