(Part 1) The True Darkness Of Atheism

Satan manipulating atheists

You want to see what’s true atheism and what their hearts is filled with? The answer is hatred not toward Christians but towards God who lives in the believers. Satan is behind atheism. They are being used by someone whom they claim doesn’t exist yet they act exactly like the enemy (hatred). When we read Ezekiel 28:12-19 it talks about two people, Satan and the King of Tyre. Why both? Because Satan is manipulating the King of Tyre and in the same way he is doing so with the atheists. I say this because Satan can never hide something for so long until it spews out of his mouth through the individual.

Below is a glimpse into the spiritual realm and darkness which lies in the hearts of unbelievers and their true intent which comes from demonic entities. As Christians, we must remember what Ephesians 6:12 says which is, “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

Bruce Gerencser the atheist says,

“I am quite happy to be an apostate, a worker of Satan, a deceiver of immature Christians. By all means, keep praying for me. Every unanswered prayer is a reminder that the heavens are devoid of Gods and that what really matters is how we make life on this planet better for all. Part of making life better is the driving of a stake through the heart of religious Fundamentalism. Fundamentalism — in all its forms — remains the biggest threat to human and planetary existence.”

Just like the King of Tyre, Satan is speaking through this man and his aim are for those who are weak in the faith.

Now how demonic is the statement above, all he’s doing is proving even more the existence of evil which comes from the enemy of our souls, Satan.

Ephesians 5:11

And do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness; instead, expose them.

  1. How about saying that he would like to drive a stake through the heart of fundamentalism, Jesus Christ the Word who became flesh. If that isn’t hatred from an atheist I would like to know what would he do if he really hated you even more.

  2. Bruce never said ‘person’. The actual, written right above there, copy/pasted by you, reads, “Part of making life better is the driving of a stake through the heart of religious Fundamentalism. Fundamentalism — in all its forms — remains the biggest threat to human and planetary existence.” Religious Fundamentalism. Not a person. A religious construct. Very big difference. Do better Spaniard. You’re skirting libel with your comment here.

  3. Fundamentalism towards Christianity means doctrine that reveals the person of Jesus Christ. To hate fundamentalism towards Christianity is to have hatred towards God.

  4. Hi Spaniard,

One can distinguish between Fundamentalism as a set of theological beliefs and people who adhere to those beliefs. Fundamentalism is a dangerous cult which oppresses those who are under its sway. One can hate this religious system without hating the people who belong to it.

Wouldn’t you want persons who are captive to this system of oppression to be liberated ? Isn’t the healing quality of compassion, mercy and kindness more important than the religious system of Fundamentalism? And why do you think that someone pointing out the problems of Christian Fundamentalism so people can be liberated from its psychologically damaging effects hates Fundamentalists themselves? Isn’t the motivation of Bruce care and concern for those suffering oppression?

  5. Let’s get this straight, when we talk about fundamentalism what we really mean is why take the Bible literally right? Jesus is the Word in John1:1, to love Jesus Christ is to love the Word of God and live it out. You are trying to say, why obey Jesus which He is the Word. That is Satanic.

  6. Hi Spaniard,
If Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1 and ff.), surely it is stretching a long bow to jump to the conclusion that the bible is the Word of God. Jesus is not the bible. If you worship Jesus, then to worship the bible is bibliolatry.

  7. That’s a really good questions, I appreciate that.

When the Bible says that Jesus is the Word, I’m not saying that Jesus is the Bible or He’s a Book. Jesus is the Word which means that the Word (Bible) expresses the nature of God and reveals His will and character and is a model for believers to follow and be like Christ. The Bible is not to be worshiped and no Christians that I know worships it but we worship the Jesus that is revealed in scripture. Just look at it in this way, the Bible is a compass that leads you in the right direction. The scripture is eternal which means that it doesn’t change because God doesn’t change.

Jesus as the Word also reveals that He is God as seen in John 1:1 which says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Jesus being the Word indicates that He is creator as seen in Psalm 33:6 which says, “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.”

I hope that it helped to answer your question.

  8. I’m not wholly sure, but I think Bruce is more concerned about the separation of church and state, and the threat of theocracy. So, he’s feeling that this is connected with a belief in the inerrancy of the Bible. It’s his opinion that if people move away from this fundamentalist position, they will be then free to explore more progressive ways of thinking politically and socially. What are your thoughts in this area?

  9. I don’t know if you’re an atheist or not but if you are one, then by far, you are the nicest one I have come across.

I see your point and I would agree with you that he probably wants separation of church and state but that said, he said that the problem with evangelicals is their Bible. Without God’s Word you have no evangelicals which that word “evangelical” simply means to preach and if you don’t have a Bible then there is no more preaching. I think when you read his quote it means what it says. My site is to warn believers of false doctrine, or spiritual danger. I have no animosity towards Bruce, John or anyone else. I just want to share the love of Christ like it was done to me and if they reject it then I go to someone else. I won’t make anyone believe by forcing them, My love for people compels me to tell them the truth which is found in Jesus Christ.

Thanks for your question and if you ever have more in the future I would do my best to answer them.

  10. Hi Spaniard,

I don’t think that Rebecca is an atheist. Hi Rebecca! Is that you who dialogues with Bruce? If so, Rebecca could be described as a compassionate, moderate Christian who loves Jesus Christ.

  11. HI, John, it is me. How are you? Thank you for your kind comments.

It’s true, Spaniardvii, I am a committed follower of Jesus Christ, although not a fundamentalist.

Appreciate your comments to clarify, Spaniardvii. Just want to say that I think it’s tough to share on the blogs. How do we express our strong opinions without coming across like it’s a personal attack, or disrespectful of someone’s else’s contradictory view. On top of that, it’s very difficult to build an atmosphere of trust, when we’ve never even met or spoke personally in real time at all.

I mean people’s whole identity and security can be wrapped up in what they believe, so if we dispute their views strongly, whether committed Christian or atheist, this can feel like an attack on who they are as a person. Many times, they will react in anger or simply shut down the conversation. How to circumvent this, I’m not sure.

To give an example of what I mean, watch the documentary “Hellbound” on You Tube. It articulates an argument for Christian universalism. See the reaction of some of these protesters outside the 9ll memorial, for instance. You’ll see what I mean.

  12. Hello Rebecca,

You said-“It’s true, Spaniardviii, I am a committed follower of Jesus Christ, although not a fundamentalist.”

With all due respect, a Christian is a fundamentalist, to say I follow Jesus but don’t take His Word’s literally is a contradiction. Christians take the Bible literally if one does not then that’s not a Christian. Jesus said it in Matthew 7, to obey and live your life according to scripture and one can’t if you don’t take it literally. If you don’t take it literally for what it says then what are you living is my question?

  13. I would definitely agree that Jesus is the center. He is God’s last word to us and it’s through a “Jesus centered” lens that we should interpret all of Scripture. Are you feeling in Matthew 7 when Jesus says, ” therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock,” that our Lord is referring to the whole Bible. I’m looking at this as a reference to the specific teachings He has just shared.

But, my main struggle with what you are sharing is that it appears to make our “salvation” based in a work of correct thinking relating to our view of Scripture rather than a free gift through the grace of God in Christ. Do you see what I’m saying, or perhaps I’ve misinterpreted your comment.

  14. Hello Rebecca, I’m confuse with your detachment of fundamentalist as it was something bad but I think I understand through your last paragraph.

    2 Timothy 3:16
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

If I see something wrong in a person whether a Christian or an unbeliever I will correct them. Correction is showing love because you know the person is headed the wrong into the direction (into a ditch) and you save him through telling them, “stop! danger, don’t go any further.” Love will always tell the truth even if it hurts the hearer because Truth will set the person free.
    John 8:32
32 You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”

Now of course, you will tell them in a loving way. If you don’t tell the person the truth then how can they know that they are in danger?

When you speak the truth you will only get two reaction.
    1. Agreement with you even though they aren’t living according to truth but they acknowledge that what you said is truth. That’s a person that the Holy Spirit is working on.
    2. They take your truth as an attack, why? Because pride doesn’t allow for an individual to accept that they are wrong so they become hostile towards you.

When I tell an atheist about Jesus, the first thing they do is mock, second they attack Jesus, me and the Christian community.

It must seem like I’m attacking them but in reality they are attacking God and all I do is continue to explain to them the truth but when a person is convinced there is little I can do. If I stop they will say that they beat me and I’m scared of them and if I continue to answer their questions, they will continue to mock and call you names and so forth. All they want is to boast how they beat a Christian which they can have their victory but I know in the end all those who rejected Jesus Christ will be put to shame.

We as Christians can never fall back from telling someone the truth. If they challenge your beliefs in Jesus Christ, you must answer and once you do if you see its going nowhere then you stop.

I don’t go to atheists blogs to argue with them they come to me which they won’t like my answer and they just like to argue which its fine if it doesn’t go anywhere I just stop answering them.

  15. Spainardvii, first off, I want to say that I sense your good intentions, obvious caring for people, and love for our Lord. Thank you. Following Jesus, and loving people is the most important thing in my book, whether we’re very conservative, or more progressive.\

In part, I can agree with you about the nature of the blogosphere. Many times it has caused me to want to stop blogging in despair. Sometimes, although this has become increasedly rare, you may get a third response….The person actually wants to have reasoned and rigorous dialogue even if they disagree. They do not resort to personal attacks, but are able to focus on the issue at hand. In the end, everyone who thinks differently is not seen as an enemy to be utterly destroyed. People can actually agree to disagree, still respect each other, and part as friends. They are willing to continue the discussion. Both partners in the discussion are willing to change course direction if persuaded otherwise. For myself, I’ve blown it to over the course of time, too, trust me.

I find that I can have this tendency to want to drag people to where I’m at, rather than to be more open, and trust God’s working in their lives in His timing. This is especially true with my own grown children, when I think they are making big mistakes.

Such is the nature of flawed humans. But, I can honestly say that I try to be open to truth wherever it’s found, and to trust God with the results.

Now I could be wrong about this, but I think much of the hostility coming from the new atheists today is rooted in a fear of theocracy. Some in the far right do feed into this, but I certainly don’t think they are representative of all the conservative Christians.

Speaking politically as a more progressive libertarian, I would also have concern for some of those on the far progressive left. Look at what happened to shut down free speech recently at a university in California. Our country, in general, is becoming more and more polarized. It is not a good thing. Prayers that we don’t throw civil discourse out the window.

Our Lord, Spainardvii, bless and enrich your life in everyway.

    Rebecca.

  16. Hi Spaniard,

I see my last entry is no longer being moderated. You have deleted it. It’s your attitude of accusing people who ask questions as being filled with pride and your inability to allow anything other than Fundamentalism to be considered Christian that has made me see that a compassionate form of atheist humanism is preferable to such a narrow view of the world.

If God is a Fundamentalist, then I conclude that he does not exist. This is not darkness but light.

I can answer all of your questions with the help of the Holy Spirit but I know that you really are not looking for answers, you will go to Bruce’s blog and start to boast how great you are and how you defeated Spaniard. This debate is a joke to you that’s why I don’t answer your insincere questions. The atheists community is full of pride just like yourself and all you want to do is try to defeat a Christian and pridefully boast to your atheists friends and proclaim, “I’m so great.” I don’t answer pride.

  18. Spanaird, can we say, though, that we have the answer to every question. Doesn’t the Scripture, itself, teach in 1Cor.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

I think even the most orthodox of Christians while agreeing concerning the essentials will still have some difference relating to various interpretations of Scripture.

And, there are some matter beyond our finite human understanding.

  19. Sad to say that you take the side of someone who rejects the God that you claim to serve and go after a Christian who is trying to bring people to Jesus with the Truth. You have surprised me today. I will answer your question as best as possible with the help of the Holy Spirit.

I don’t have all the answers, you are right but God does have all the answers and when someone is asking me a question that’s when the Lord will reveal to me through deep study of scripture the answer to the person’s question. The Bible clearly tells you to have the answers to people’s questions that’s why it’s important to read and study God’s Word every day so that you will be prepared, as seen in
1 Peter 3:15 which says, “15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to every man who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and fear.

The verse that you quoted is talking about the tools that the Holy Spirit uses for us to know God’s will and purposes but when we are face to face with the Living God, we won’t need to speak in tongues, get revelations or prophecies and anything else because in heaven we will have the full knowledge of God as seen in 1 Corinthians 13:8-10 which says, “8 Love never ends.
    But as for prophecies,
    they will come to an end;
    as for languages, they will cease;
as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 9 For we know in part,
    and we prophesy in part.
10 But when the perfect comes,
the partial will come to an end.

The verse that you quoted must be read in its context with the verses that I quoted which are 8-10 to shed light to verse 12, the one you quoted. We must understand what the author is trying to say to the reader or else one can twist the verse to say whatever one wants.

P.S. You helped me correct what I said earlier to John in the beginning. Thank you.

  21. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7

6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness
    but rejoices in the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Rebecca, my joy is in the Truth and telling people about the Truth, Jesus Christ who will set them free of bondage to sin. They will always feel that I’m attacking them, those who reject the Truth because I am a stench to them as seen in
2 Corinthians 2:16 (NLT) which says, “To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?

That’s why the atheists don’t like my answers because the Truth exposes the deeds of wickedness and the reality of an eternal hell for those who reject Jesus Christ.

  22. How silly. Atheism is simply a lack of belief in a deity due to lack of evidence to support one. It is foolish to think that we hate a god which doesn’t exist. It is also foolish to assert that we follow the deity that scares you, you call it satan. You are not sharing truth, you are sharing a very misguided opinion. And it reads very much as fear.

  25. So to you, God has not been proven to exist. I wonder if that logic flies when referring to a painting, building or to anything that has order complexity and intelligence and says that the creator of those things mentioned above has not been proven. On the basis that there is something there proves that someone made it. To be an atheist, you sure need a lot of blind faith to believe that Nothing created you.

  26. Non sequitor. Paintings, buildings and other man made things are known. They can be seen and touched. You can speak with those who created them. None of your argument proves the existence of deity, and it most certainly doesn’t prove that your deity is the correct one.

If you were to argue that you exist, therefore something had to create you, or that the world exists, therefore something had to make it happen, you are simply arguing for a beginning. At no time have you demonstrated that everything began with a creator.

If I had written of the Easter bunny you wouldn’t have given me the pleasure of your fine arguments. If someone is found to be in a deserted island yet finds footprints in the sand one can easily conclude that a person is present. Likewise God’s footprints in the sand if I may say that, is the sun, moon and stars, one can conclude just base on that evidence alone that an intelligent being had made it. You know the saying, “you can bring a horse to the water trough but you can’t make it drink.” In the same way you can show atheists evidence but you can’t make them think. No, Bruce, for God gives us free will choice. If you die as a God rejecting atheist even though people are praying for you, it doesn’t in any way disprove His existence. He will give you multiple opportunities to come to Christ and place faith in Him, but He won’t make the choice for you. The heavens aren’t void of God, they declare His glory according to His word. There’s nothing wrong with making life on this planet better but whose idea of better? The most important thing is the great commission. Meeting people’s needs go along with that. Feed them or whatever their need is and tell them the gospel of Christ. This life is temporary and like a mist that appears for a short time and is gone says the Bible. The most important thing is where a person spends forever. As all atheists learn at death, we don’t cease to exist like animals . That’s a lie of the devil. Yes, he exists because the word of God says so. Your attempts to get all of us to turn our backs on the Bible will never succeed. It is futile.
