Cookie a day: Rejecting God Opens The Door To Demonic Activity

14 Now the Spirit of the Lord had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented him.

1 Samuel 16:14

When a person walks away from God through rejecting God’s Word, they are inviting demons into their lives. Even if it’s a Christian who falls into sin and stays there without repenting, is playing a dangerous game because letting sin not only enter but allowing it to linger opens the door to demonic oppression.

  1. Hi Spaniard,

Aren’t ‘demons’ simply ancient and medieval superstitions? Wouldn’t it be better to see ‘demons’ as representing the misuse of power in the social, economic, political and religious structures that leads to political, economic, social and religious oppression?

What empirical evidence do we have for the existence of personal, literal demons? There does not appear to be any more evidence than there is for the existence of fairies.

Why not simply be like the Quakers and sit in the silence and breathe in compassion and kindness. The mythical ‘Satan’ doesn’t transform ‘himself’ into an angel of Light if we view the light as compassion, healing mercy and loving kindness, does he? However, sometimes hate masquerades as love.

    Have a great day.

    1. Here is your evidence that Satan and demons do exist:

      Matthew 4:1-10
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

      Mark 5:1-10
They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” 10 And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

  2. Hi Spaniard,

    Thanks for your response.

If Jesus grew in wisdom and knowledge, maybe he accepted what others believed on this and didn’t really know. He may have been simply mistaken. It’s no sin (evil) to not know something. There is no scientific evidence that I know of that suggests demons exist.

    Have an enjoyable day!

    1. You misunderstand the scriptures. Jesus growing in wisdom and knowledge refers to His humanity but at the same time, He was God with all knowledge. An example of this is found in Luke 2:41-47 which says, 41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

As you can see above Jesus was conversing with the elites in His time being 12 years old showing that He already had wisdom. John, only those with the Holy Spirit will understand the Bible. It doesn’t matter how much you read if you don’t give your life to Jesus Christ you will never ever understand the Bible.

Either you believe what the Bible clearly teaches or you will be like William P. Young who makes his own god. Your god and Young’s will never save you.

  3. Hi Spaniard,

    Thanks for your response.

If Jesus was God and human at the same time, omniscient and not omniscient, then doesn’t this imply that Jesus was schizoid? How is it possible to avoid the view that Jesus is two different persons: a God who knows Einstein’s theory of relativity and a human Jesus who gives no indication that he knows this?

So when Jesus was on earth, how do we know which passages in the Gospels refer to Jesus’ deity and which to his humanity? And if Jesus is infallible in his deity, then if he doesn’t know everything ,in his humanity, could he not have been mistaken when acting in his humanity?

    Enjoy your day

    1. Philippians 2:6-11
6 Who, being in very nature God,
      did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
      being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
      he humbled himself
      by becoming obedient to death—
      even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

The passages above answers your illogical questions. The more you ask, the more confuse you sound to me. It proves what the Bible clearly teaches that without the Holy Spirit living in a person they cannot grasp the meaning of scripture.
I know 100% that you won’t understand the verses above because you have already decided to reject the Biblical Jesus and believe in a false christ. I bet that you will answer me with another head-scratching question and you will bypass the verses above.

I know exactly what you’re trying to do and it won’t work, maybe with a baby Christian but not with one who has the full armor of God.
Ask yourself this question, what happens when a wolf meets a shepherd with a staff?

      1. Hi Spaniard,

If you breathe slowly in and slowly out, you may find the presence of peace and compassion. The Quakers call it the presence of the Light. This is not ‘Satan’ transforming ‘himself’ into an angel of light because Satan does not produce peace and kindness in a person’s life.

Jesus is the light of the world and the true Jesus is compassion, mercy and loving-kindness, not the angry Jesus of wrath, condemnation and judgment.

The passage you refer to shows the Pauline view of Jesus and is an ancient hymn used by Paul to express his view of the self humbling and exaltation of the compassionate One.

        Have a wonderful day!

      2. 2 John 1:9
9 Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.

John, you are a deceiver for you are bringing another gospel which is not the truth. You are teaching doctrines of demons as seen in 1 Timothy 4:1 which says, Now the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons.

Your tactics are not going to work with me but unless you repent and believe in Jesus Christ who is revealed in holy scripture you will die lost. Repent John before it’s too late.

Jesus is love and mercy and also He is a God of justice and judgment.

        Revelation 20:11-15

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. From His face the earth and the heavens fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. Books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one by his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

  4. Hi Spaniard,

I’ll leave the last word to you, but I do thank you for your responses. I am not a deceiver, nor have I been deceived. Love is the central theme of ‘God’.

Your reference to the doctrine of demons which you allege that I am teaching is false.

You do know that 7 of Paul’s letters are genuine, 6 of them are forgeries. See Bart Ehrman’s book called Forged. The pastorals are forgeries written by someone using Paul’s name. How can God inspire forgeries?

    Have an enjoyable day!

    1. Jeremiah 1:12
The LORD said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”

In Matthew Chapter 4 Jesus quoted scripture to Satan 3 times. Most likely the scripture that Jesus was quoting was from the Septuagint. The Septuagint was translated by 70 Jewish scholars for the Jewish people because since the Greek language was widespread and a lot of the Jewish people knew only Greek and didn’t speak Hebrew, thus a translation was created. Jesus found no problem as well as Stephen in Acts to quote and learn from the Septuagint, knowing that God has preserved His Word.

      Matthew 24:35
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

Before God’s Word can be lost, the earth and heaven itself will first be no more. The last time I looked it was still there so is His Word.

      1 Peter 1:22-25
22 Since your souls have been purified by obedience to the truth through the Spirit unto a genuine brotherly love, love one another deeply with a pure heart, 23 for you have been born again, not from perishable seed, but imperishable, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. 24 For
      “All flesh is as grass,
and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.
The grass withers, and its flower falls away,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
This is the word that was preached to you.

We can go back as far as 250 years and find the New Testament. No books in the world come close in accuracy as God’s Word or even that close to their author as the bible does.

      John 10:35-36
35 If He called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken, 36 do you say of Him, whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?

Here Jesus is making a point and is using God’s Word as something so reliable that His enemies couldn’t defend their statement.

The God of then universe relied on scripture and so will I and the evidence of preservation compared with secular books don’t even come close.

Yes, John, you are deceived and are a deceiver. If you continue in your state you will go to hell after your death. By rejecting God’s Word you are likewise rejecting Jesus Christ and are believing in another god which is Satan. You are serving Satan, not God.
