Jesus Wants To Rescue You

Jesus reaching out His hand
Jesus is reaching out His hand to rescue

John 3:16-19

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

To explain the verses above I would like to do it with an illustration.
People live in boats floating on a vast ocean. The problem is that everyone’s boat has a small hole. Some are smaller than others and others are much bigger. Everyone without exception are going to sink and drown, some quicker than others. There is good news though. There is a big ship that’s going around through the vast ocean looking for people to rescue from their sinking boats. That ship is called “The Savior” and the Captain’s name is Jesus Christ. Every time the Captain came across a sinking boat, He quickly pulls up to it and stops. He gets out and goes to the side of the ship and stretches out His right hand to the person who is in the sinking boat to rescue them.

The most tragic thing is when they say no to the Captain and want to stay with their sinking boat. The question arises, Why? The answer is that they will have to leave ALL of their stuff in the boat. Some have lots of money, family, friends, cars, houses, jobs, gold and etc. They would rather go down with the boat than part ways with their life that’s on the boat. But those who reach out their hands to the Captain and get pulled up to the ship, they are transformed with renewed strength and great joy, so much so that they help the Captain by trying to convince those that they come across of their sinking boats to get on the ship with them. They tell them that on the massive ship are plenty of rooms, food, and comfort. They continue that the Captain is so loving that they see Him as a Father who truly cares for them.

At the end of the ship’s voyage after going to the four corners of the vast ocean, it will head for land to where the Captain has a beautiful place which He has made for those He has rescued. The place is like a beautiful city that’s built in the middle of a garden with gorgeous mountains all around.

If the Captain came to you today and reached out His hand to pull you in, would you grab it?

Don’t wait for you don’t know how long you will stay afloat.

Side note: This was an illustration that I gave my children yesterday on our Bible Study. My son told me to share it on WordPress. I pray that you get blessed and if you don’t know Christ yet on a personal level, I hope that you give Him a chance and get to know Jesus Christ because He loves you deeply.
