I would like to share a wonderful testimony how God rescued me from one of my darkest hours in life.
May my testimony give you hope in Jesus Christ that He will never leave nor abandon you but will rescue you from your darkest hour that you are facing today.
This happened sometime in 2004. I was working and my mother was in the hospital. My employer called all of us into his office saying that he might have to lay some of us off because business wasn’t good. My mother was dying and now I was faced with the possibility of losing my job. I was paying for a new truck and I also had to pay the lawyers to transfer the title of my mother’s house under my name so I won’t be homeless in the event my mother died.
The house had a lien on it so before I could put it under my name, I would have to pay it off which was tens of thousands of dollars. I was going to visit my mom at the hospital after work but before I left to go see her, I told a friend at work that I was going to lose my house, my car, and my job. While I was driving to the hospital, I turned on the radio to a Christian station. A preacher was on and it was Tony Evans. I could never forget what he uttered. He said, “Don’t worry about your house, your car, and your job but seek the Lord first and He will give you everything you need.”
My mouth dropped to the floor in unbelief because just right before I left my job, those were the same words that I said to my friend at work and here in my truck I am hearing it again, word for word. I took a day off from work to go to the downtown to see how much I owed on the lien but the government agency that handled it moved from the downtown building. I was very distraught but my cousin suggested, who accompanied me, to call a number that was left where the agency used to be. I called and a woman picked up and I asked her how much the lien was but at the time she couldn’t find it. She told me that she would call me back with the full amount of what was owed.
I remember going to Taco Bell at lunchtime and as I was waiting in line to make an order, the lady called me. She told me that she was going to zero out the entire balance. I said “WHAT? What do you mean?” She continued to explain that the record of my mother’s lien was nowhere to be found and that she was going to dismiss it. I couldn’t believe what just happened. God zeroed out my balance so I wouldn’t be homeless.
