Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.
Hope can be illustrated in this way: A man was found to be in the middle of hurricane force winds. Even though everything around him is being destroyed, he has peace; Peace that leaves all those around him dumbfounded and with amazement. When we find ourselves in that storm we must throw the anchor to keep us from drifting or from heading in the wrong direction of despair just like a ship at sea. Jesus is our anchor, the hope that steadies our lives from being destroyed by the storms of life and from the enemies. Hebrews 6: 18-19 18 so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. With the anchor in our lives let us rejoice because in 1 John 4:4 it says, You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
When Moses went up the mountain to speak with God and afterward at the base of the mountain, when the people met him, his face shone with God’s glory. When we come out of our closets or bedrooms after praying to the Lord our minds are transformed to reflect more of God’s character. How do people see Christ in you? By loving your neighbors (friends or enemies) so that they may see God’s glory shine in you. Above all else, love the Truth and don’t let the world transform you into their version of truth (deception) but transform them through the Truth of God’s Word.
