How Deception Works

Satan is always hanging around and ready to deceive you

The Lord spoke to me this morning to share with you guys the working of deception. I would like to show a quick illustration.

Let us say that you walk into an office full of people for either an interview or to speak to a few of them. Immediately they start to reject you and say all kinds of evil against you. You become bewildered by their assessment of your character. You ask them, “where did you get that information about me? Who told you these things because it is not true?”

What happened was that someone got to those people first before you arrived. That person spoke untruth about you as it was the truth. So when you came to see them they already were convinced of the type of person that was said about you.

That illustration is seen in 2 Corinthians 4:4 which says, 4 In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Satan works by blinding a person’s mind which is understood by convincing them that his message or his version of the truth is the correct one. Once a person is persuaded by a false message as the truth, when that which is The Truth comes to them, they will perceive it as false and thus reject the Biblical view of the person of Jesus Christ. Remember, that the person of Jesus is in question here because if you get Jesus wrong, it doesn’t matter which other parts of the Bible Satan allows (without attacking you in those areas) for you to get right because it won’t save you.

Whatever you read online always check them with Scripture to make sure it is Biblically sound. Do not allow yourself to be deceived in some areas of Scripture but meditate on His Holy Word every day to be equipped with a special filter which captures everything that’s harmful to your faith.
