Compromise
-When a believer does it-
This is what the word truly means to me.
Compromise–To Believe that God’s Word is the truth but indirectly is being rejected for the sake of someone’s feelings.
What ends up happening is that an argument or issue is put above the truth which pulverizes it to powder in a believer’s life. Now, they dangerously drift a long distance from the truth and the longer they stay there, the more of a possibility that apostasy will take place.
Hebrews 10:36-39
36 For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.
37 For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.
38 But My righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.
“For you need endurance” All believers in Jesus Christ need to endure in the truth regardless of the outcome. If you notice, in the same verse it equates endurance with accomplishing God’s will. If we compromise how can you glorify the Lord since it will keep you from doing His will.
“But My righteous one will live by faith” What is faith? Faith, first of all, comes by hearing the Gospel of Christ Jesus as seen in Romans 10:17 which says, So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
Second, faith must continue in God’s Word which feeds it as seen in Matthew 4:4 which says, But He answered, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Compromising the truth will cause your faith in Jesus to become undernourished.
“and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.” Compromising the truth of Scripture causes the individual’s faith to draw back from the source (God) who strengthens it because it is connected to His Word, thus if one is tossed so goes the other. God abhors a compromiser.
In verse 39, it clearly gives us hope that the Holy Spirit will keep us from compromising the truth and from drawing back away from Christ.

Wow, thank you, my brother, Marques. I feel honored for such a consideration, even though I feel unworthy with so many great Biblical blogs out there such as yours. Thank you, my brother, for thinking of me, may Christ be lifted up and praised.
