John 8:24
Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Who is Jesus? Who did He claim to be? If you believe in the wrong Jesus you will die in your sins. You won’t be able to get saved because you will call upon the wrong Jesus. Let’s compare it with the Quran and who it claims Jesus to be.
Qur’an 9:30 (Written 600 + years after the events of the New Testament)
And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!
This Quranic verse clearly denies that Jesus is the Son of God. Let us compare it with the Bible.
1 John 2:22-23
22 Who is the liar, if not the one who denies that Jesus is the Messiah? This one is the antichrist: the one who denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son can have the Father; he who confesses the Son has the Father as well.
John 5:16-18
16 Therefore, the Jews began persecuting Jesus because He was doing these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus responded to them, “My Father is still working, and I am working also.” 18 This is why the Jews began trying all the more to kill Him: Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
The Messiah (Jesus) in the Quran is denied as being the Son of God, while in the Bible the Messiah is identified as the Son of God and whoever denies this Truth does not have the Father. The Son of God simply means that Jesus has the same nature and is equal with God (Colossians 2:9 For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ). The Greek word for equal is Isos which means: Equal, equivalent, identical.
Jesus wasn’t claiming to be a different God but that He is God. In John 5, the Jews recognized that He was claiming to be God, thus the impulse for wanting to kill Him for making such a statement. Even though Jesus’ claim to deity came with solid proof by His miracles, they still chose to reject Him- miracles that only God can do like forgiving sin, walking on water, calming the storm (the winds and the waves), and raising Himself from the grave to name a few. If one denies Jesus as being God, then that person cannot call on the right Jesus for salvation but on a Jesus who doesn’t exist. The Quran is not from God but from Satan to deceive you from believing in the true living God Jesus Christ.
We have a warning in the Book of Galatians if we believe in a different gospel
Galatians 1:6-9
6 I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from Him who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are troubling you and want to change the good news about the Messiah. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you, a curse be on him! 9 As we have said before, I now say again: If anyone preaches to you a gospel contrary to what you received, a curse be on him!
The Quran is another gospel that preaches a different Jesus and whoever believes in what the Quran says about Jesus, God’s curse will be on that person for believing the lie. The word curse in the Greek is “anathema” which is the strongest word for “curse” that you can use in the Greek language. It means to be under God’s wrath or pledged for God’s destruction.
