Isaiah 66:2
My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.
The Creator of the universe desires this in His followers,
- Humbleness– A person who allows himself to be directed by the Holy Spirit
- Submissive in spirit– A person who obeys everything written in Scripture which 2 Timothy 3 summarizes it perfectly
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
You must teach the Word of God correctly, rebuke a wayward Christian to bring them back in right standing with the LORD, train them in the Truth [Scripture] alone without adding anything else to it.
If you willfully shrink back from rebuking someone for teaching something that is not truthful, it shows where your heart truly stands.
At the end of the verse, the LORD showers grace to the one who fears His Word. A Christian has to love the Truth and defend it.
In social media, you will encounter countless of false teachers who are there to destroy your faith by convincing you to believe in false doctrine. You will know them by the fruit of their mouth. Remember, whatever comes out of their mouth tells you what fills their heart. If they attack your character and not your teachings is because you are in the truth and they have nothing else to say but will try to stop you from doing God’s will through character assassination. Rejoice and be glad because they did the same to Jesus Christ and the prophets before Him.
False prophets will teach truth mixed with lies so you must be prepared by always being in the Word and in prayer. False Christians will look almost like the genuine article but watch what they say and teach very carefully because what’s in their heart will eventually come to the surface.
If you know someone who is false, separate yourself from them or else you will be like them, spreading false teachings and the Lord will rebuke you. If you love them, you will tell them the truth.
Love the truth, love righteousness, love Jesus and preach the whole counsel of God. Don’t pick and choose.
