As Christmas approaches, remember why Jesus came to earth.
As I was meditating yesterday, this image passed through my mind…
A roman soldier standing behind Him with a whip which contains on the tip broken bones and metal. The hands of Jesus chained to a block of stone or wood with His back facing outward. Every strike to the back of Jesus, the flesh opens up and the blood splatters on the roman who is striking His back making each strike feel more painful than one would imagine.
While Jesus feels the whip and the pain receptors flood into His mind with excruciating pain, Jesus cries out: Father, I’m doing it for them, Father, I’m doing it for them. Jesus reminds Himself that being in that situation is worth it because He wants those who will believe in Him to be in heaven for all eternity with Him.
After this thought ran through my mind, my emotion struck my heart, and I felt great gratitude combined with deep emotion on how great and awesome Jesus Christ is. It reveals how far He went to redeem all humanity, to those who put their trust in Him.
Romans 5:6-8
6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Remember, How much Jesus suffered for you
