Matthew 2:1-2
1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star at its rising and have come to worship him.”
The wise men came to worship and honor Christ because the Holy Spirit revealed to them that Jesus is the King of the world. How do you honor a King? By bringing gifts of gratitude.
How can we honor Jesus Christ this Christmas? By giving a gift to someone who can’t pay you back and to do it in Jesus’ name. Christmas isn’t the only time that we can do this. If we see someone in need and we have what they need, gift it to them with a message that says, “Jesus loves you.”
Every Christmas is a reminder of the best gift that God gave to all humanity, the forgiveness of our sins through His Son Jesus Christ. The way to receive this wonderful gift is by placing our faith in His sacrifice, that He died on the cross for our sins and on the third day He rose from the grave and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. If we give our lives to Jesus, He gives us eternal life and the Holy Spirit makes His home in us.
