Matthew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
“this gospel” refers to the message that Jesus preached and taught the people, and revealed its meaning to His disciples.
Jesus is telling His disciples that in the future, God’s Word will endure and continue until the end so that people can get saved.
Those who reject the inerrancy of Scripture will answer: Yes, the Scriptures will endure to the end, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t contain errors. It will still have enough truth to save people.
Is that what Jesus believes about His Word? Let’s take a look at what Jesus believes about the very Words of God.
Matthew 4:4
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Jesus reveals that men (all present believers & future ones) must align their lives on every word which is found in every page of the Bible.
Jesus knows the future and said that His gospel, every word of it, will endure to the end. He declares that all men must live according to the Words that haven’t been corrupted. Did Jesus say that? No, my friends.
He said on every single Word of Scripture.
We can conclude that since Jesus is God, knows the future, and having unlimited powers to protect His Word, we can rest assured that what He said in Matthew 4:4 is trustworthy. Don’t believe those who try to convince you otherwise.
Friends, believe in what Jesus said about His own Words.
My brothers, show your genuine salvation by trusting in the very Words of God and obeying them because, in the end, Jesus seeks obedience,…
…obedience to what?
Alex, thank you for providing the textual alternative to your message. As you may have noted, I have not visited your blog with just the video. It’s hard for me to listen to a vlog or podcast.
Good word…

Great post here, brother.
John Arthur showed up on my site. I allowed some of his comments on my post, so that he would expose his true motives.
I’ll be away from WP all day today, so no new comments will get approved until I get back home. I had to make a change to my Comments Settings, since so many wolves in sheep’s clothing are starting to show up.
Take care, brother.

I did not know that Don. If you don’t mind me asking, what makes it hard to view videos?

You handled yourself with the gospel perfectly. I have put John Arthur in the trash. Ever time he leaves me a comment, it goes straight to the trash because that is what spews out of his mouth. All he does is beg me to abandon the Bible and become an atheist.
He has a serious mental demonic oppression. He never stops like his father the devil.
Stay safe while you are out today Marques. May the Lord bless you and your family.

I have to shut my den door so I don’t disturb my wife and it is usually easier and faster for me to read, than watch and listen.

Does the fact that the order of Jesus’ temptations contradict each other (the last two of the three) when comparing Matthew 4 and Luke 4 disprove Bible inerrancy? Or do you hold to inerrancy in the original manuscripts and believe that the order in each Gospel is equivalent in the original autographs? Or something else? I have to ask. Inerrancy seems to be so carefully qualified these days as to be unfalsifiable.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your questions. I hold to the Scriptures being inerrant in the original manuscripts and in our modern English translations. Saying that some English translations are not accurate, so it depends if it was translated accurately. I hold that the translations like the NKJV, ESV, NASB, HCSB, BSB, etc, represent the original manuscripts. But, paraphrases do not like the NLT, Message Bible, etc.
The order of Jesus’ temptation is not a contradiction. One author deemed it necessary to put it in order, while the other one didn’t. He just wanted to give the readers what happened. Nonetheless, both of their stories do not contradict each other. Their message is still the same.
I mean, we do the same thing when we tell a story. Some people are very detailed and say exactly how it happened in order, while others are more random in telling the story.
If you have two friends, one comes to you first and tells you a story in order of what he saw. The second friend comes and tells you the same story but, some of the details are not in sequence because he started in the middle of the story, went back to the beginning, and then told you the end. Will you then conclude that he lied to you? Of course not. He just said it a little different, order-wise, but still, gave you all the details as the first friend?

That’s a good answer, thanks. I don’t fully agree, but I can at least see where you are coming from. But isn’t it possible that both orders are wrong? I mean logically, though even I would say that is unlikely. I personally don’t see how anyone could hold to inerrancy beyond the original autographs (which as far as I know have been lost to history and may no longer exist). But thanks for your answer.

You’re welcome. We have over 5400 New Testament manuscripts from all over the world. The beauty of that is that you can bring them all in and see what the originals said without question. If we had only one copy of the biblical manuscripts, that would be a problem because we wouldn’t know if that one copy made any mistakes or put in things that didn’t happen. But, with having many manuscripts, we see that many people copied it and all say the same message. The variants consist of misspelled words and word order, but no doctrine is in question.
Reiterating what I just said, people’s copies are from the originals, so looking at so many copied manuscripts and seeing that all of them say the same thing, we can conclude that we know what the original manuscripts said.
