The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ

Luke 24:1-8

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 They went in but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes. 5 So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground.

“Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men. 6 “He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘It is necessary that the Son of Man be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’?” 8 And they remembered his words.

The women were in distress because they believed that the person they loved and followed is dead. Two men appeared to them with dazzling clothes which the word “dazzling” in Greek means to shine and to flash as lightning. These men were angels sent by the Lord.

The angels said to the women about Jesus Christ “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” The Scripture clearly declares that Jesus Christ is alive.

The angels reminded them that they should have known better because Jesus had already told them that He was going to die, but on the third day, He was going to rise.

That is why it is vital to always be in the Scriptures to never forget what it says about the way we should act, how to do His will, who He is, and what shall be expected in the future concerning the return of the Son of God.

For we do not worship a dead Jesus but one who is alive and is seated on the right hand of God the Father.
