7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you,

The Apostles were examples for the early church as they followed Christ’s teachings and wrote them down eventually for the future believers.

“We were not idle when we were with you” The Apostles were busy in God’s work, so must we be in our walk with Christ, for the time is short.
