“14 If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take note of that person; don’t associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.”
“If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter” It refers to obedience to the Word of God.
“take note of that person” Take notice of those who call themselves Christians, but have drifted away from Scripture as the center of their faith.
“don’t associate with him” Don’t partner yourself with such a Christian to let them know that they are not walking in the truth.
“so that he may be ashamed” The goal of separating yourself from a person like that is to bring him to repentance.
