Why Do Some People Abandon Their Faith In Christ?

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and then to turn away from the holy commandment passed on to them.

Why do some people apostatize, who at one time professed faith in Jesus Christ, even those who were pastors, ended up leaving Jesus Christ? These false converts even believed that they had the Holy Spirit before they fell away from the faith.

An apostate shows us that they never understood the Holy Scriptures because to understand the Bible, they had to have the Holy Spirit living inside of them in the first place. They think that being a Christian is like joining a club. One day you are a member, and the next you are not. It doesn’t work that way. The membership of the kingdom of heaven is a permanent one. Either you have one or you don’t. Jesus said in John 14:16, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever”

A true Christian will never leave the faith because of Jesus’ prayer for His disciples and every future saint that will believe in Jesus through God’s Word. If you did lose your faith, that meant that Jesus’ prayer did not include you. But, if you have backslid and came back to walk with Christ, that shows that you belong to Him.

31 Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

A Christian’s faith is secured. A believer will never walk away from Jesus Christ, but those who do walk away, never had a true relationship with Christ. This is explained in 1 John 2:19. Read below.

“They went out [by apostatizing] from us, but they did not belong to us [meaning they were never saved in the first place]. For if they had belonged to us [by showing their perseverance in the faith through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit], they would have remained with us [because they would never have abandoned Jesus Christ]. But their departure [those who fell away from the faith, denouncing the very person, Jesus Christ who they once professed to love] made it clear [or exposed themselves to the reality of their spiritual condition to the body of believers] that none of them belonged to us.” -1 John 2:19, BSB

If an atheist ever says to you that he knows more than you, referring to the Bible, or that he once had the Holy Spirit, it just shows how deluded they are and continues to be. Unless they humble themselves in the sight of Christ, they will continue to walk in darkness straight to the multiple pathways to hell. Atheists are one of the proudest people you will ever encounter. The reason for this is that they went through a traumatic situation that got them so bitter towards God that all they can do is curse at Him and His followers. People like that make me feel sorry for them. Only prayer can break their hardness.

Keep the atheists you come across in your prayers for the salvation of their souls.

Husbands Are responsible For Their Wives

22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior.

Husbands, wherever you go, your wife will follow. If you get deceived, your wife gets deceived. If you lose your faith in Christ, your wife will lose her faith in Christ.

Imagine yourself driving a car with your family. If you follow your GPS, you and your family will get to the destination together. If you get lost, your whole family gets lost with you. If the worst happens, like driving off a cliff, you would not only kill yourself, but you will kill your whole family as well.

As husbands, we must lead our wives in the truth, God’s Word. Remember, whatever we do and believe, we will take our family along with us.

24 At the command of the king, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions—they and their children and wives. And before they had reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.

The men that falsely accused Daniel, the man of God, not only did they get the death penalty, but their wives and children as well. This passage is a picture of a spiritual reality that the decisions we make have eternal consequences and will have an impact not only on us, but on our wives and children.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her 26 to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

Husbands, be careful in what you accept as truth and always contrast it with the Word of God because you can cause the destruction of your wife’s faith.

The Word of God is the only thing that can make your wife holy and pure in God’s eyes by walking according to it. You can only base your life in the Scriptures if you believe every word of it. If not, then you will mislead yourself and your family.

Why Is Atheism So Dangerous?

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Why is the belief of atheism so dangerous for the atheist? The reason it is so dangerous is that Satan blinds them and convinces them that God is not real, which keeps the person from pursuing spiritual truth, like the afterlife and the Creator of the universe. That type of persuasion keeps them in the dark.

When a person doesn’t believe that something is real, they won’t try to investigate it to see if it is true. If they presume to seek the Bible for evidence, they go about it with complete doubt making it useless and a waste of their time.

The devil persuades these people from even thinking about searching for God through the Bible by luring them away through worldly lust of all kinds. The devil tells them, “if you become a Christian, you cannot enjoy your sinful desires that you live for and must give them up.” He will keep them from the truth, which will send them to hell because they won’t seek redemption from their state by asking Jesus Christ for salvation.

Imagine that you are in a big boat and you come across a man whose boat capsized and now is in the water, which is teeming with sharks. You offer to save the man. He gives you a weird look and says to you, “save me from what?” You reply, “Huh…don’t you know that you are in danger?” The man then replies, “I don’t need any saving.” Then you say, “Are you serious?” “If you don’t get into my boat, you will be eaten by sharks.” To your amazement, the man replies, “Sharks don’t exist and you are deluded that I’m in such trouble. Leave me alone and go tell this fairy tale to someone else. I’m fine where I am at.”

Friend, don’t be like this atheist. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for you. He died on the cross and rose from the grave on the third day. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and He will forgive you and give you eternal life.
