Psalm 91:5-7: Spiritual Warfare

Part 2 Of Psalm 91

Not To Fear The Enemy’s Attacks

You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; -Psalm 91:5

The enemies’ strategic attack at night is for the purpose of becoming less noticeable to believers to catch them off guard. The demons shoot their arrows from a distance, hoping that we won’t be watching to do the most damage to our faith. It will disable our progress in the Lord if we get hit. Since the arrows come from above, it doesn’t matter if it’s in the daytime because many will not be looking up. If we are walking in obedience to God’s Word, these attacks will have no effect on us.

The Enemies weapons: Plagues & Arrows of destruction

Of the plague that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that devastates at noon. -Psalm 91:6

A plague is a virus that compromises the body to destroy the person from within. Satan will attack you through someone you know to introduce destructive heresy in a subtle way. You must always be in the alert by knowing God’s Word very well. If the plague does not work during the night (in a stealth mode) then, openly, he will bombard you for complete destruction. The Shield of Faith is what will protect the Christian from annihilation.

Many Might Fall But He Will Keep You Safe

A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. -Psalm 91:7

Even though many professing Christians are falling away from their faith, be assured that our faith in Jesus Christ— for those who are genuine believers— will not be snatched from us so that we may lose our hope, and worse, our salvation. Jesus promised that He will keep us from abandoning Him in John 10:28

John 10:28 “and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”
