20 But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
-Matthew 1:20-21, NASB
God the Father sent His Son as a gift to the world (John 3:16) to save all of us from our sins. This Christmas, we must think about “Have I received God’s wonderful gift?” If not, you cannot make it to heaven when you die. Jesus paid in full our debt of sin on the cross, but the only way to receive God’s forgiveness is if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the completed work of the cross (His death and resurrection) and a willingness to commit our lives to Him. One day, and that day is fast approaching, Jesus is coming back for His church (believers) to take us to be where He is at forever. According to God’s Word, you do not want to be left behind (Matthew 24:21-22) because the Antichrist is coming (Revelation 13:7-10).
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, give Him thanks for coming into the world to save you and all those who have put their trust in Him. Without Jesus, there is no hope. He is what keeps me going. My hope is for the rapture to take place in my lifetime, which it seems it might really happen with the direction that the world is taking. It is in line with Matthew 24. Come Lord Jesus!
