Do Not Worship Images Of Gold And Silver

16 While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was troubled within him when he saw that the city was full of idols….22 Then Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus and said: “Men of Athens! I see that you are extremely religious in every respect. 23 For as I was passing through and observing the objects of your worship, I even found an altar on which was inscribed: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it—He is Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in shrines made by hands. -Acts 17:16, 22-24

“his spirit was troubled within him” There’s going to be times when the Holy Spirit will touch your spirit to make you aware of sin in people’s lives so that you may say something to them, warning them about the wrong direction they are headed in their current state. Testify to them that without Christ, there is no salvation.

“Therefore, what you worship in ignorance” People who worship idols or anything else that is not the Lord do it under pure ignorance. Idolaters have no clue of the consequences of worshiping an idol. The Scriptures makes it clear of that consequence in 1 Corinthians 6:9, “Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality”

God, who created the universe, cannot be put in a man-made altar thinking that they are worshiping Him. God is too big to fit in an altar. Even the universe is too small for Him. The Lord lives in heaven, which is outside of our dimension.

My brothers, flee from idolatry and only worship Jesus Christ.
