7 But stay away from worthless stories that are typical of old women. Rather, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; 8 for bodily training is just slightly beneficial, but godliness is beneficial for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

As a Christian, are you preparing yourself for battle against the demonic forces who will eventually come to you? Remember, your faith is what they are looking to take from you. If you are not walking in the ways of the Lord, you are a sitting duck for the enemy.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. -Ephesians 6:10
Jesus Christ saves us to accomplish His will and for us to be more like Him, living in righteousness. He also equips us with weapons and armor not to sit on the sideline but to face the enemy head on. A Christian that does not take his Christian walk seriously is more like a duck. He has become an easy target and is defenseless.
A duck has nothing to defend itself with. It has no teeth to bite, no claws to tear you to shreds or any other way to fight off predators. All that a duck can try to do is fly away for safety. If the hunter is a human, the duck might not get very far. I don’t think that a duck can escape a bullet. If we don’t put on the Full Armor of God, we will truly be a sitting duck. We won’t be able to hide or run for safety. Believers are not saved to run away from the enemy but rather, to face them in the battlefield.
Even if you are accompanied by other believers who are not living the Christian life, you will be more of a target. No one will be able to help each other because everyone will be the same, defenseless.
I hope that you will see that being in God’s Word and in prayer will make you become stronger in the Lord. It will also equip you with the Full Armor of God.
Don’t be a sitting duck. Be strong in the Lord.
