Squirrels: They will eat anything they can find. Squirrels also hoard their food by digging holes in the ground.
The one who gives to the poor will not be in need, but one who turns his eyes away will receive many curses.

Receiving A Blessing When We Help People
The Lord takes it very personally when it comes to helping people. Since the Lord is the one that feeds everyone in the planet, He wants His creatures, especially the household of believers, to be kind to the poor by providing for them when the opportunity arises.
If you proclaim to be a believer but withhold your hands from helping, the Lord will do likewise when you call for Him to help you. Be gracious, as the Lord is gracious with you. The Lord blesses you so that you may be a blessing for someone in need.
The Scripture says in Proverbs 19:17, “Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and He will give a reward to the lender.” Blessing the poor is like doing a good act to God Himself.
Jesus expounds further on the principle of Proverbs 19:17 that not only should we help the poor, but those who have needs in all areas of life or circumstances.
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’ 40 “And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’ -Matthew 25:35-40
Jesus takes care of His children, the believers. He gives us food, drink, clothing, a roof over our heads, and many other things. If you have the chance to do what God has done for us, know that He will reward you. But remember, don’t sound a trumpet to let everyone know what you are doing. The Lord wants to reward you if you did it with good intentions. The right motive is when it is done with the perspective that the Lord will receive the glory. But when you direct it for your praises instead of the Lord’s, your motives will rob you of a reward.
3 But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. -Matthew 6:3-4
