Why Does God Move You From Place To Place?

34 Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

Exodus 40:34-25 BSB

The cloud is God’s presence. God’s presence is so powerful that when He is in the tabernacle (Tent of Meeting) no one can enter.

22 Whether the cloud lingered for two days, a month, or longer, the Israelites camped and did not set out as long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle; but when it was lifted, they would set out. 23 They camped at the LORD’s command, and they set out at the LORD’s command; they carried out the LORD’s charge according to His command through Moses.

Numbers 9:22-23 BSB

Some might wonder why they have to move so often, even though things seem to go well, where they are at, or why things turn out bad. One moment we have a good job, and the next, we don’t. Doors seem to be closed, no matter how hard we search for a job.

Just know that when God has been lifted up, so to speak, and has closed all the doors so you won’t be able to stay where you are presently living, He wants to move you to a new location. Why does God do this? The answer is found in Acts 17.

26 From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.

Acts 17:26-27 BSB

Through one man, Adam, God brought about all nationalities that we see today on the earth. The people that existed in the past, exist today, and will exist in the future were designed by the Lord to live at a specific time, nation, city, and neighborhood so that they may find Him for their salvation.

17 Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Romans 10:17 BSB

Christians are being moved from place to place so that the gospel can reach those that God has appointed for salvation will hear it. The Lord can even move His children to another country for that reason. And, the saint that God has chosen to move has a character that will best suit the person that God wants to reach with him.

Your character is unique, and the Lord made you that way for a specific purpose to reach those with the same character or one that can easily relate to the other person, opening up their hearts to Jesus. Now, we know that our personalities cannot convict anyone of their sins. The Holy Spirit is the only one that can do that. However, the Lord Jesus Christ enjoys using our personality, knowing that the other person will take to it and allow us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them.

If you find yourself moving a lot, know that Jesus has a purpose for it. The main goal being, to reach others with the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. God has placed you in this era to use you to bring those who He has placed within you to Him.
