17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Exodus 20:17 BSB

Do you desire what your neighbor has? What about if your neighbor is a Christian and you covet his message or teaching. Let’s say, you go around the platform you are on and you see a post with a biblical message you like, it speaks to you, and you feel that it’s really good. You want to share it with your readers, but you get tempted to make your readers believe that it is yours.

Plagiarizing is happening all over the place, and sadly, by bible believing Christians, who think that it is okay to do so because you are spreading God’s message. The problem with that is, that the message isn’t from you. You didn’t receive it directly from the Lord through your own bible studies.

Your readers will think that God is speaking to you and using you, but in reality, you are lying and stealing from someone else.

I am not here to condemn anyone. If you are going around stealing posts from other bloggers, you need to stop and repent. When you steal someone’s message, the Lord will not credit you with righteousness, but He will condemn your work of sin. Let’s look at these verses of what Jesus will tell ministers and believers who are in ministries, but are doing it in a wicked way.

21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’

Matthew 7:21-23 BSB

So, just because you are spreading God’s Word, it doesn’t mean that you are doing God’s will because if you are spreading it for accolades, then you are spreading God’s Word for you, not for Jesus.
