(Part 5) We Are Living In Times As Stated In Romans 1

Continuing with Romans 1:31

31 They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless. -Romans 1:31 BSB

The word “senseless” in Greek means to be unintelligent due to a lack of spiritual wisdom. That type of person without spiritual wisdom will be driven in any direction that Satan decides to place him in. Some people who at one time claimed to follow Jesus but then apostatized and are now used by the enemy to attack the God of Scripture whom they claim doesn’t exist. Satan will only use to his full capacity, in the kingdom of darkness, the senseless.

The word “faithless” in Greek means one who breaks God’s law and is untrustworthy. When people become anti-God, it won’t be for the better, but the worse. No one can trust them, as they will stab you in the back to get ahead, or if they “feel” you are a threat to their health, financial stability, and status. They will show no mercy or compassion unless it benefits them.

The word “heartless” in Greek gives the meaning of being without affection and love. One can have superficial love—the love that the world exhibits—but at the same time be without real love. Real love shows compassion for strangers even though it won’t, in this world, benefit you. True love can only come by the Spirit of God, which is sacrificial love—putting others above you. A person without God cannot obtain such love.

The word “merciless” in Greek gives the meaning of being cruel, like having the power to do something to help an individual but instead refrains so that the person suffers. Before the Great Tribulation, society will show more hostility toward believers in Jesus Christ and even attempt to kill some of them because their hearts have become callous. A calloused heart (one who has completely rejected Jesus) cannot be penetrated and will die in a sinful state.

32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things are worthy of death, they not only continue to do these things, but also approve of those who practice them. -Romans 1:32 BSB

Everyone is without excuse since God’s Word is vastly available, even for free. The conscience of godless people will condemn them for their sinful behavior because God’s law has been written in their hearts. All homosexuals, transgenders, thieves, adulterers, drug users, and the rest, who practice sins of all kinds, know full well that they are living wrong. Since they love their sin more than God, it pushes them to continue in that lifestyle and promote it to the youth through the education system, forcing society to accept it as virtuous. However, in God’s eyes, it is disgusting and will only bring those who practice such sins spiritual death after they fall into the hands of God’s judgment.

This ends the series of Romans 1.

The Demon Of Flattery

Demons will take their names from the special attacks they are known by—the temptations they use against the believers. For an example of this, let us look at Mark 9.

When Jesus saw that a crowd had come running, He rebuked the unclean spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” He said, “I command you to come out and never enter him again.” -Mark 9:25 BSB

As you can see in Mark 9:25, Jesus encounters a demon called deaf and mute because that was his specialty in attacking people.

The arsenal the demon decides to employ toward a believer in Jesus Christ will make him aware of what type of demon he is facing, helping him to confront it properly.

There are demons called flattery who are very deadly to a believer’s faith because they will come to you with praises, insincere ones, to make you prideful and rob God of His glory. They want you to accept your gifts as if you manufactured them yourself instead of acknowledging that it was given to you by the Lord.

For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. -Romans 16:18 BSB

The word flattery in Romans 16 is used as a tactic for deception by dividing people (verse 17) from genuine believers to come to their side and eventually believe in their false doctrines.

A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet. -Proverbs 29:5 BSB

Flattery is a trap set to capture you so that you will become disabled and won’t be able to carry out God’s plan for your life. But, for an individual who is close to salvation, it can turn out extremely bad like, the elimination of having faith in Jesus Christ to keep the person from receiving eternal life and staying in an unregenerated state until death.

The only way to combat the demon of flattery is to keep in mind that the person you have become and everything you possess has been given to you from above. Always give glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for everything. That mindset will keep you from stumbling.

An Insight On The Trinity

Jesus & The Father Are One And The Same In Essence

8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? -John 14:8-9 BSB

When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. -John 17:1 BSB

4 I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world existed. -John 17:4-5 BSB

I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one. -John 17:11 BSB

But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom. -Hebrews 1:8 BSB

The Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father. Who is the Father? The Father is God. Let’s see how it looks like putting God instead of the Father and putting Jesus in place of the Son.

God is in Jesus and Jesus is in God (John 14:10-11). That’s what Hebrews 1:8 & John 14:10-11 reveals.

Here is an illustration to make the concept of the Trinity clear

The human body is comprised of three different components with one brain. You have the human flesh, the human bones, and the human spirit. If a person can separate himself into those three different components, the flesh, the bones, and the spirit, all three will contain the same brain. So, let’s say that Johnny separated himself. Whichever you speak to, his flesh, his bones, or his spirit, you will still be talking to Johnny because all three have the same brain.

The brain represents the mind, will, desires, and the essence of who God is. There is One essence existing as three persons. In other words, God exists as three different persons, but all three are the one true God. All three have the same mind. Whoever of the Godhead you talk to, you are talking to God Himself. That is what Jesus told Philip in John 14:8-9.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. -Genesis 1:27 BSB

Even the human body, in a way, contains the concept of the Trinity.

I hope that this will be a blessing to you and help you to understand the Trinity better, and that this will also help you to explain it to others with biblical references.
