The Aaronic Blessing

22 Then the LORD said to Moses, 23 “Tell Aaron and his sons: This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: 24 ‘May the LORD bless you and keep you; 25 may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 may the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.’ 27 So they shall put My name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” -Numbers 6:22-27 BSB

Five reasons why you should add the Aaronic Blessing in your prayers

The first blessing you want from the LORD is His “Blessing,” which means His praises for doing His will and living your life in holiness.

The second blessing is to “keep you,” which means to watch over you to preserve your life from danger.

The third blessing you want from the LORD is for His “face to shine upon you,” which means to have God’s presence and His goodness shine on you. In other words, to receive God’s favor upon your life.

The fourth blessing that you want from the LORD is for Him to “be gracious to you,” which means to have God’s mercy fall upon your life so that He would be attentive to your prayers for help.

And the Fifth blessing that you want God to bless you with is to have the LORD “lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace,” which means to have God’s face look toward you and place peace in your heart and mind that surpasses all understanding.
