Satan Hates When You Start A Bible Study Group

67 So Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?” 68 Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.” 70 Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” 71 He was speaking about Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. For although Judas was one of the Twelve, he was later to betray Jesus. -John 6:67-71 BSB

One of the gifts that the Holy Spirit dispenses to some believers is to be a teacher (1 Corinthians 12:28). Let’s say you start a bible study group, and you are teaching the guys to understand God’s Word so that they may be spiritually equipped to face the world and the one who rules it (2 Corinthians 4:4).

You better believe that you will get Satan’s attention. The first thing he will attempt to do is to take your motivation away to stop you from leading the bible study group that God has given you. If he can’t accomplish that, the next step he will take is to make them leave by either getting them to feel insulted by the Scripture you read and explained or to make them believe that they don’t need your help because Satan will convince them that they know more than you. It doesn’t matter if they just started reading Scripture because pride will lead them to go away—dismantling your group.

And if those two attempts from the devil fail, he will try yet another one. Just like Satan planted Judas in Jesus’ circle to try and destroy His ministry, which of course backfired because we know what happened on the cross, he will do the same with your bible study group. The devil will plant a Judas who may seem sincere but is only there to dismantle your ministry. As long as you continue to walk uprightly and teach the Word of God correctly, Satan’s attempt to destroy one’s ministry will end up backfiring. The Lord will protect us if we continue to live in holiness, obey God’s Word, and stay in communication [through prayer] with the Lord.
