Verse By Verse Through Galatians (1:7)

7 which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ. -Galatians 1:7 BSB

The phrase “some people are troubling you” refers to false teachers who twist what Jesus said, taught, and did to make it say something completely different. In this case, since it’s about the gospel—salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone and accepting His death and resurrection—is what Paul is saying that’s getting distorted (see Galatians 3:1-2).

The word “distort” means to change the message to say something else, corrupting it, which the reader can no longer get the true meaning.
