10 Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. -Galatians 1:10 BSB
Paul is making the case to the church in Galatia that what he is teaching is not motivated to get people’s approval but to please God by telling the truth according to the Word of God (see 1 Thessalonians 2:13). If indeed Paul’s motivation was to please the crowd by twisting and compromising the truth—not to offend anyone—he would be disqualified from being a follower of Jesus Christ and would make himself go against God—becoming a false teacher.
