How Powerful Is Prayer?

12 On the day that the LORD gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” 13 So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.” -Joshua 10:12-13 BSB

Joshua 10 is a picture of what Jesus spoke about when He said this about the power of prayer…22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them. 23 “Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. -Mark 11:22-24 BSB

I’m not saying that anyone can make the sun stop or actually move a mountain, but what I’m saying is that prayer to the Lord will make the impossible, possible no matter what it is that’s going on in your life.

If what you prayed for is God’s will, you will see a miracle. When your faith gets hit, all you need to do to revive it again is pray to the One who gave it to you for strength, and He will strengthen your faith.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. -Hebrews 12:2 BSB

Are you doubting the Bible? Or, are you doubting your faith in the Lord? Get on your knees and seek Jesus before your doubt becomes serious.

The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail. -James 5:16b
