Don’t Be Taken By Lying Spirits

20 And the LORD said, ‘Who will entice Ahab to go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ And one spirit said this, while another said that. 21 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ 22 And the LORD said to him, ‘How?’ And he said, ‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ Then He said, ‘You shall entice him, and you will also prevail. Go and do so.’ 23 Now then, behold, the LORD has put a deceiving spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours; and the LORD has declared disaster against you.” -1 Kings 22:20-23

The “prophets” of the Charismatic movement, a denomination of Christianity has been exposed as false teachers. In the verses above, the LORD wanted to bring judgment to Ahab for worshiping false gods causing Israel to abandon the LORD and for murdering Naboth, so that he can have his vineyard that was next to his palace (1 Kings 21).

Who were the spirits that were before the LORD? The answer is in verse 19 which says, “And Micaiah said, “Therefore, hear the word of the LORD. I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the angels of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left.”

The LORD allowed demons (deceiving spirit) to deceive Ahab but at the same time sent him a true prophet to warn him for repentance.

The spirits are angels, but it is a mixture of God’s angels and fallen angels. In the Book of Job Chapter 1, it shows that God’s angels are before the Throne of God listening for a command from the LORD and Satan with his fallen angels present themselves to give an account of what they are doing on earth.

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”-Job 1:6-7

Mr. Trump was never going to serve two terms as president. God’s will has been clearly revealed. Many genuine Christians like myself were hoping that he would, but in the Charismatic circle, those who call themselves “prophets” were saying unanimously that the LORD spoke to them that Mr. Trump was going to win. We now know that the LORD never spoke to them. If the LORD never spoke to them, then who did? They were hearing from demons. What was the purpose of that false prophecy? It was to disillusion many true Christians who are in the Charismatic denomination. It literally was to destroy their faith in Jesus.

These false prophets, which is what they truly are, as proven with Trump’s loss, that God has exposed the Charismatics, as having a cesspool of false Christians, prophets, preachers, teaching false doctrines.

Friends, if God truly speaks to you that something will happen, you can believe that it will happen.

How can we know if the LORD has spoken to someone?

21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the LORD has not spoken?’ 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him. -Deuteronomy 18:21-22

How does the LORD feel about a false prophet, who speaks in His name something that which God didn’t say to him?

But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name, a word which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ -Deuteronomy 18:20

It was a capital crime to speak a false message in the name of the LORD. God dealt with a false prophet very seriously because it was so deadly for anyone who would believe their message as it would lead them either to a false god or make them afraid through a word, as if from the LORD to make them believe that God was not happy with them.

All of these Charismatic “prophets” are not from God and are not hearing from God. They have been sent to deceive as many as possible. These false prophets are hearing from demons.

If you are a genuine Christian and you listen to them, you have to stop. You are taking in demonic doctrine. Stick to the Word of God.

Are we to listen to prophets today?

1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world. -Hebrews 1:1

In the Old Testament, God’s spoke in two ways.

  1. God spoke through His Word, which was in the process of being completed. Of course, I’m speaking before the last prophet who contributed to the canon of Scripture.
  2. God spoke through His prophets. Prophets not only spoke God’s Word to the Israelies, but also wrote down what God told them, which became part of the Old Testament Scriptures.

In the New Testament, after Jesus ascended to heaven and gave His disciples the promised Holy Spirit, there were besides the 12 Apostles who were the only ones that had supernatural powers, the Holy Spirit working in them powerfully, there were also apostles (not the same as the 12) teachers, preachers, prophets, and etc. The reason for them was to help the church grow, as they didn’t have the complete Bible yet.

11 And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; -Ephesians 4:11-14

We no longer need prophets to hear from the Lord Jesus Christ. We have the Scriptures that God uses to speak to his saints. Now, can God speak to an individual with what they are going through personally? Yes. Can God use you to do a miracle for someone? Yes. Can you speak in tongues, a language that you don’t know to minister to a foreign person? Absolutely. Is this the normal way God speaks to people? No. The main way that God communicates with people is through His Word. The others are very rare.

Don’t let yourself be deceived. Match up everything that you hear with the Scriptures. The Scriptures warns that many professing Christians will abandon sound teachings and apostatize in the last days. Don’t be one of them. Anchor yourself in God’s Word.

False Teachers Have Gone Out Into The World To Deceive

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor an angel, nor a spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.

-Acts 23:8, NASB

The Sadducees and Pharisees were religious leaders who were responsible in teaching the Jewish people the Word of God correctly (Matthew 23:1-3). They were actually pushing people away from God by teaching them to embrace their tradition instead of God’s Word (Mark 7:10-13). Each person they converted through their made-man tradition, they destined them to hell like themselves.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

-Matthew 23:15, NASB

There are many Christians who think that they to know the Bible, but when they bring someone to Jesus for salvation, the reality is that they have been brought to a false Jesus who cannot save them.

6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel, 7 which is not just another account; but there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, even now I say again: if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

-Galatians 1:6-9, NASB

You need to be careful who you allow to teach you from God’s Word. Everything they teach you, check it out with the Word of God to make sure it is biblical and pray to the Lord to keep you from deception.

A major clue that you are dealing with a false teacher as mentioned in Acts 23:8 is that they don’t believe in what the bible teaches like angels, demons, the spiritual realm, and the resurrection of the dead for those who believe in Jesus Christ. A student of the Scripture believes in everything that the Bible says, but a false one will pick and choose what to believe in to try to mislead. Some on the other hand are sincere in what they believe. The problem is that they were taught a false gospel and now they are spreading it to others.

The biggest and more damaging theology that all false teachers have is the denial of the deity of Christ Jesus. They will bring to you a different gospel that teaches a different Jesus which will give you a different spirit.

3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!

-2 Corinthians 11:3-4, NASB

Read God’s Word everyday with prayer, asking Jesus for understanding. Also, ask Him to give you boldness to proclaim the good news to a fallen world without fear.

Are We Understanding The Scriptures Correctly?

An Introduction

The reason I am writing this post is that I have come across dangerous teachings of the Bible that undermine sound doctrine and are landmines, waiting to kill its victim. Before you go out into the field, I would like to warn you of these false teachings. Two in particular.

There are two types of wayward beliefs. One is so far removed from the Jewish Scripture that he has developed a disdain [replacement theology] for the nation of Israel today. The other professing Christian is so much into the Jewish people that he has become a type of Judaizer.

I would like to bring to light that which is in the dark. I want to warn Christians of Satan’s tactics and the people he uses to deceive those who are not in the Word of God regularly.

Questions That Will Be Answered & The Importance Of Understanding The Scriptures

  • How does a person become a Christian?
  • Once we are a Christian, what do we need to believe in to have a sound doctrine?

It is vital to understand the Bible to get the proper nourishment. If we are to live according to it, we must make sure to understand it correctly, or else we will deceive ourselves and others.

Proper Understanding Of Grace & The Law

A person to become a Christian, get saved, must believe in Jesus Christ [John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”], accept what He did for us on the cross, paid our debt of sin, and on the third day, believe that Jesus rose from the grave and is alive forevermore.

A Christian must understand at least the basic principles of the faith found in the Scriptures that salvation was not due to their good works [Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”], but by faith alone in the work of Christ Jesus.

The believer must understand that Jesus kept the law for us so that we may receive His righteousness apart from the law [Romans 3:21], through faith in Jesus Christ, as He kept it without failing. [Romans 10:3-4 3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”] Jesus is the end of the law, which means that after He came and ascended to heaven, we no longer are to keep the law as it is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, but we are under the law of the Spirit. For the Lord fulfilled the ceremonial law, which was to celebrate special days, years and the sacrifice of animals. The civil law was constructed for the Jewish nation in the wilderness and when Jewish kings ruled the land of Israel.

The law of Moses cannot make you righteous, in right standing with God. Those who want to keep the law to establish one’s merit makes Jesus’ death pointless [Galatians 2:21 “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”]

If you try to keep the law as a Christian, you will forfeit your faith [Galatians 5:3-4 3 And I testify again to every man who has himself circumcised, that he is obligated to keep the whole Law. 4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace.”] For the two, the law of Moses and grace cannot work together and produce the righteousness of God. It’s impossible.

For example, can you say that you received a gift if you end up paying for it? The answer is no. Can you say that you paid for something if you got it for free? The answer is no. Jesus’ salvation is available to everyone as a gift. No works is required to receive the gift of Jesus. Good deeds are the evidence seen in a person who has the Spirit of God living inside of him.

Belief That Jesus Is God Is A Salvific Requirement

[The word “God” is added for clarity]

A Christian must believe in the biblical Jesus that he received at first, without deviating through false teachings [John 14:8-9 “8 Philip *said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father [God], and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus *said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father [God]; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father [God]’?.

Leaving sound doctrine will cause a person to apostatize. Apostasy brings to light that the professing person’s faith is false. Jesus in John 8:24 declared that you have to believe that He is God to be saved [“24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.”]

The phrase “I am” points back to Exodus 3:13-14 13 Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”] Jesus said that He is the I am of Exodus 3.

A Christian Will Receive A New Heart

Once the Holy Spirit enters the heart of a believer, transformation occurs, making him into a new creature. He will have a love for people and the things of God [John 13:34-35 34 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”]

All genuine believers in Jesus Christ will love the Jewish people because our Lord and Savior came from them, and through the Jewish apostles, we received the Word of God [John 4:22 “You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.”]

Satan’s Hatred For The Jews

Commentary was added in Revelation 12:13 for clarity

Only Satan hates the Jews and has a great disdain for them [Revelation 12:13 “And when the dragon [Satan] saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman [is in reference to Israel in the End Times] who gave birth to the male Child.”]

Jesus Will Reign In Jerusalem

At Jesus’ second coming, He will rule as King in Jerusalem [Zechariah 14:9-11 9 And the LORD will be King over all the earth; on that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one. 10 All the land will change into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will live in security.”

[Zechariah 14:16-17 16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of armies, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of armies, there will be no rain on them.”]

If you come across any teachings that try to make you go back to the law of Moses or to make you have a disdain for the nation of Israel, keep on walking and don’t stop. You have ventured into a spiritual minefield. Any wrong step and you can potentially damage your faith severely.
