We Must Believe In The Right Jesus To Get Saved

But regarding the Son He says,

“Your throne, God, is forever and ever,
And the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of His kingdom.

-Hebrews 1:8, NASB 2020

The Son [Jesus Christ] is called God, whose throne will never end. This verse makes Jesus eternal, not having a beginning.

Why is it necessary to believe that Jesus is God? Let’s take a look at what Jesus said about Himself and what the Apostle Peter said about Jesus.

[Jesus]

In John 8:24, Jesus said, “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” NASB 2020

Jesus said that if you do not believe that He is God, He will not forgive you of all your sins. Why? Well, if a friend gave you his new email address, but one of the letters you wrote down was wrong, not knowing how else to reach him. Having the correct email address makes all the difference. When you decide to email your friend, you will never get a respond back.

It is the same way with Jesus. If you believe in the wrong Jesus and pray to the wrong Jesus, your prayers will never reach Him.

The devil will try to trick you by putting on a mask of Jesus to lead you astray.

But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

-2 Corinthians 11:3, NASB 2020

Satan will come to you with a different Jesus. And as 2 Corinthians 11:3-5 warns, he (Satan) will try to take away your sincere worship for the Lord because He doesn’t want you to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. You see, Satan has his own [false] gospel. To name a few; Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Islam, Christadelphians, and other religious organization that falls in the same theology of Jesus not being God.

There Is Only One Savior

[Peter]

In Acts 4:10, 12, Peter declared, 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.”

Peter said here that without believing in Jesus Christ and what He did for you on the cross, you won’t be able to get saved. What does this have to do with Jesus being God? I’m glad you asked. For the answer, we will need to travel back in time to the Old Testament.

In Isaiah 43:11, the LORD says this about Himself, “I, only I, am the LORD,
And there is no savior besides Me.”

In Isaiah 43:11, it says that the LORD is the only savior, and in Acts 4:10, 12, it says that Jesus is the only savior. There cannot be, as the LORD in Isaiah very clearly said, another savior besides Him. For Jesus to save you from your sins, He has to be God. In the whole Bible, there has always been one savior, and that will never change. For God to save humanity from their sins, He took flesh and put it on as a garment. He did this so that He would be able to die on the cross.

This post is for the one who does not believe that Jesus is God. Friend, I ask you to look at the verses I have presented here and others, such as these: John 1:1-2, John 5: 17-18, Colossians 1:16, and Revelation 1:8-18.

If you believe in the wrong Jesus, you won’t be able to go to heaven. I want you to be there with me. Put away your other extra-biblical sources and just read the Bible. God bless.

Getting To Know Jesus

And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

-Jeremiah 29:13, NASB 2020

Imagine you have a friend that you barely speak to and visit. How well will you know him? Not very well. Relationships require precious time spent with each other.

If you want to get to know Jesus, you have to spend time in His Word. Ask the Lord to give you a desire to read the Word of God. The more you read God’s Word, the more the Holy Spirit will give you insight about Jesus’ character and the things about Him.

There is no other way to know about Jesus apart from the Scriptures. Do not make the mistake of reading extra-biblical sources in substitution of the Scriptures to know Christ. You might end up believing in a false Jesus.

For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!

-2 Corinthians 11:4, NASB 2020

All false religions have this in common; A different view of Jesus from the Scriptures. That is what makes them a false teacher in the first place. In 2 Corinthians 11:4, it gives you an outline of how the devil introduces a false Jesus Christ to someone.

  1. The devil will send you a person with a different spirit [demonic] to tell you about God.
  2. The person will start to tell you a different gospel that will contradict what the Bible already says about Jesus Christ and His salvation.
  3. If they are convincing, knowing how to twist God’s Word, you can end up believing in a different Jesus that cannot promise you eternal life.

Friend, ask yourself, “How well do I really know Jesus Christ?” If your answer is “Not that well,” you are in big trouble. You are standing on the edge of a cliff, where the devil can come from behind and push you off into a different Jesus and kill the truth from you. Don’t let that happen. Prayer and God’s Word is what’s going to keep you from the edge of doom.
