Heaven Or Hell: Which Road Are You Going To Follow?

a-wake-up-call

Psalms 73:3

For I envied the arrogant; I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

There are times in our lives when we as Christians, while we are serving the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully and simultaneously we are struggling financially or emotionally. In that situation, you notice the arrogant, those who deny the existence of God “Atheism” and living a life of carefree. The more they sin the richer they get and the healthier they look, while you are struggling just to eat or make it through the day. Every morning you wake up, it starts all over again, but not for the wicked.

Psalms 73:4-6

4 They have an easy time until they die, and their bodies are well fed. 5 They are not in trouble like others; they are not afflicted like most people. 6 Therefore, pride is their necklace, and violence covers them like a garment.

Our true reward is not earthly where moth and rust will destroy and men steal but the reward that we strive for as believers through the Holy Spirit is a heavenly and eternal one (Matthew 6:19-21). Christians must suffer for Christ so that our faith may be strengthened and for Jesus’ glory. Don’t envy the wicked in their prosperity because they will enjoy what they have for only for a moment.

Psalms 73:13-14,16-20

13 Did I purify my heart and wash my hands in innocence for nothing? 14 For I am afflicted all day long and punished every morning. 16 When I tried to understand all this, it seemed hopeless 17 until I entered God’s sanctuary. Then I understood their destiny. 18 Indeed, You put them in slippery places; You make them fall into ruin.
19 How suddenly they become a desolation! They come to an end, swept away by terrors. 20 Like one waking from a dream, Lord, when arising, You will despise their image.

The verses below will illustrate what happens to those who are living in wealth or have a good life without making Jesus the center of their life. All that they do and accomplish will be meaningless without Jesus. Their afterlife will be pure terror and those who follow suit after them will join their eternal state.

Luke 16:19-25

19 “There was a rich man who would dress in purple and fine linen, feasting lavishly every day. 20 But a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, was left at his gate. 21 He longed to be filled with what fell from the rich man’s table, but instead the dogs would come and lick his sores. 22 One day the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torment in Hades, he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off, with Lazarus at his side. 24 ‘Father Abraham!’ he called out, ‘Have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame!’ 25 “‘Son,’ Abraham said, ‘remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

Building your life on the foundation of money, houses, cars, women, and anything else is not worth it because that foundation is sand. The answer is Jesus Christ who gives you hope, purpose and eternal life to those who believe in Him as Lord and Savior. Now, that the answer is obvious, may you make the right decision today.

Why Did Jesus Say To Cut Off Your Hand, Foot, and Gouge Out Your Eye?

born again
Being born again and becoming a new man in Christ

Matthew 18:8-9

8 If your hand or your foot causes your downfall, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes your downfall, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, rather than to have two eyes and be thrown into hellfire!

Why did Jesus use an extreme illustration of cutting one’s body parts to avoid going to hell?

Hell is so terrible that you have to take decisive action to avoid going there at all cost because it is eternal.

If you would cross reference the verses above with Matthew 5:27-29 it will shed more light on the meaning of Jesus’ illustration. See below.

Matthew 5:27-29

27 “You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery. 28 But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

1. Eye-Those who lust after women/men and material things. For these things are keeping them away from Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:9, Matthew 19:23, Mark 10:23, 1 Timothy 6:9-10).

2. Hand-Refers to those who steal because they are given over to covetousness that they will go to any length to get it.

Ephesians 4:28

The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.

3. Foot-Those who run off to commit murder for the sake of money or revenge. To murder someone, the individual must harbor deep hatred towards a person (Leviticus 19:17-19). Jesus is love but a murderous person has pure hatred which reflects Satan in their life. A person with deep hatred cannot open his heart to Jesus because it has become callous.

Isaiah 59:7

Their feet run after evil, and they rush to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful thoughts; ruin and wretchedness are in their paths.

How does a person cut off their hand, foot and gouge out their eye? By running to Jesus (by placing their faith in Him) who will cut them off and replace them with an eye that is used for seeing who is in need of help. The hand to rescue and the foot to run and tell someone the good news (Romans 10:15).

Without Jesus in your life, you are being used by Satan to do his will (2 Timothy 2:26) and also to satisfy your sinful desires but at the end, your reward will be hell. It’s not worth it, run to Jesus today and He will make you into a new man. See picture above.

Do Not Receive The Mark Of The Beast

Revelation 13:16-18

16 And he requires everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark: the beast’s name or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom: The one who has understanding must calculate the number of the beast, because it is the number of a man. His number is 666.

Starting from Chapter 12:7 all the way through Chapter 13 which connects in sequence, the second half of the seven years of the tribulation, Satan gets defeated by Michael and his angels (the war in heaven). Satan is thrown down and comes in fury to the earth and establishes his supreme rule on the earth for a short time. The image of the Beast (the Antichrist) is put on the corner of the third temple in Jerusalem and he will claim to be God and demand worship. The Devil first goes after the woman which is Israel but Israel gets protected. He then changes his focus and goes after the Christians and messianic Jews spread out all over the world to force them to either receive his mark and worship the image he has set up on the third temple or go to prison or death.

Revelation 13:10

If anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed with a sword, with a sword he will be killed. This demands the perseverance and faith of the saints.

Revelation 14:9-12

9 And a third angel followed them and spoke with a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he will also drink the wine of God’s wrath, which is mixed full strength in the cup of His anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb, 11 and the smoke of their torment will go up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or anyone who receives the mark of his name. 12 This demands the perseverance of the saints, who keep God’s commands and their faith in Jesus.”

The question that a lot of Christians asks is, can a person after receiving the mark of the Beast have a chance to be saved? The answer is no. Receiving the mark of the Beast is not only putting a mark on you but that mark signifies that you belong to the Devil. Also, you have to give your alliance to the Satanic system and worship the Beast’s image. Anyone who receives the mark of the Beast will never get saved because in their hearts they have rejected Jesus Christ, look at verse 12 and see that it demands from the saints perseverance in the matter of not receiving the mark. A person who is truly saved will never accept the mark but one who claims to follow Jesus but receives the mark was never saved in the first place as seen in 1 John 2:19 which says, 19 They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. However, they went out so that it might be made clear that none of them belongs to us.

The Lake of Fire is a never ending torment for those who reject Jesus by accepting or receiving the mark of the Beast. Whatever you do, do not get the mark of the Beast but put your faith and trust in Jesus’ sacrifice, that He died for your sins and on the third day He rose from the grave and reigns at the right hand of God the Father.

Revelation 15:2

2 I also saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had won the victory over the beast, his image, and the number of his name, were standing on the sea of glass with harps from God.

Here we see that those who are victorious are the one’s who refused to take the mark of the Beast and worship his image. Those that die for Christ by not taking the mark will stand in the presence of the Living God to praise Him. That is something to look forward to.
