Can A Person Repent And Get A Second Chance In Hell?

Hell_2

Can a person who is in hell, repent and get saved and leave hell?

The Bible teaches very clearly that once a person dies, they are judged and if found without Christ in their hearts, they will go to hell for all eternity.

Hebrews 9:27

27 And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment

John 3:18

18 Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

A person, while living on earth who has rejected the Lord Jesus stays condemned, once they die, it will be final.

Revelation 14:9-11

9 And another, a third angel, followed them and spoke with a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he will also drink the wine of God’s wrath, which is poured full strength into the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb, 11 and the smoke of their torment will go up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or anyone who receives the mark of its name.

By receiving the Mark of the Beast, the person has rejected Christ. In verse 11, their torment will endure forever and ever without having a chance to repent or get out.

Heaven Or Hell: Which Road Are You Going To Follow?

a-wake-up-call

Psalms 73:3

For I envied the arrogant; I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

There are times in our lives when we as Christians, while we are serving the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully and simultaneously we are struggling financially or emotionally. In that situation, you notice the arrogant, those who deny the existence of God “Atheism” and living a life of carefree. The more they sin the richer they get and the healthier they look, while you are struggling just to eat or make it through the day. Every morning you wake up, it starts all over again, but not for the wicked.

Psalms 73:4-6

4 They have an easy time until they die, and their bodies are well fed. 5 They are not in trouble like others; they are not afflicted like most people. 6 Therefore, pride is their necklace, and violence covers them like a garment.

Our true reward is not earthly where moth and rust will destroy and men steal but the reward that we strive for as believers through the Holy Spirit is a heavenly and eternal one (Matthew 6:19-21). Christians must suffer for Christ so that our faith may be strengthened and for Jesus’ glory. Don’t envy the wicked in their prosperity because they will enjoy what they have for only for a moment.

Psalms 73:13-14,16-20

13 Did I purify my heart and wash my hands in innocence for nothing? 14 For I am afflicted all day long and punished every morning. 16 When I tried to understand all this, it seemed hopeless 17 until I entered God’s sanctuary. Then I understood their destiny. 18 Indeed, You put them in slippery places; You make them fall into ruin.
19 How suddenly they become a desolation! They come to an end, swept away by terrors. 20 Like one waking from a dream, Lord, when arising, You will despise their image.

The verses below will illustrate what happens to those who are living in wealth or have a good life without making Jesus the center of their life. All that they do and accomplish will be meaningless without Jesus. Their afterlife will be pure terror and those who follow suit after them will join their eternal state.

Luke 16:19-25

19 “There was a rich man who would dress in purple and fine linen, feasting lavishly every day. 20 But a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, was left at his gate. 21 He longed to be filled with what fell from the rich man’s table, but instead the dogs would come and lick his sores. 22 One day the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torment in Hades, he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off, with Lazarus at his side. 24 ‘Father Abraham!’ he called out, ‘Have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame!’ 25 “‘Son,’ Abraham said, ‘remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

Building your life on the foundation of money, houses, cars, women, and anything else is not worth it because that foundation is sand. The answer is Jesus Christ who gives you hope, purpose and eternal life to those who believe in Him as Lord and Savior. Now, that the answer is obvious, may you make the right decision today.

Why Did Jesus Say To Cut Off Your Hand, Foot, and Gouge Out Your Eye?

born again
Being born again and becoming a new man in Christ

Matthew 18:8-9

8 If your hand or your foot causes your downfall, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes your downfall, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, rather than to have two eyes and be thrown into hellfire!

Why did Jesus use an extreme illustration of cutting one’s body parts to avoid going to hell?

Hell is so terrible that you have to take decisive action to avoid going there at all cost because it is eternal.

If you would cross reference the verses above with Matthew 5:27-29 it will shed more light on the meaning of Jesus’ illustration. See below.

Matthew 5:27-29

27 “You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery. 28 But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

1. Eye-Those who lust after women/men and material things. For these things are keeping them away from Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:9, Matthew 19:23, Mark 10:23, 1 Timothy 6:9-10).

2. Hand-Refers to those who steal because they are given over to covetousness that they will go to any length to get it.

Ephesians 4:28

The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.

3. Foot-Those who run off to commit murder for the sake of money or revenge. To murder someone, the individual must harbor deep hatred towards a person (Leviticus 19:17-19). Jesus is love but a murderous person has pure hatred which reflects Satan in their life. A person with deep hatred cannot open his heart to Jesus because it has become callous.

Isaiah 59:7

Their feet run after evil, and they rush to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful thoughts; ruin and wretchedness are in their paths.

How does a person cut off their hand, foot and gouge out their eye? By running to Jesus (by placing their faith in Him) who will cut them off and replace them with an eye that is used for seeing who is in need of help. The hand to rescue and the foot to run and tell someone the good news (Romans 10:15).

Without Jesus in your life, you are being used by Satan to do his will (2 Timothy 2:26) and also to satisfy your sinful desires but at the end, your reward will be hell. It’s not worth it, run to Jesus today and He will make you into a new man. See picture above.
