The Danger Of Compromising

-When a believer does it-

This is what the word truly means to me.

CompromiseTo Believe that God’s Word is the truth but indirectly is being rejected for the sake of someone’s feelings.

What ends up happening is that an argument or issue is put above the truth which pulverizes it to powder in a believer’s life. Now, they dangerously drift a long distance from the truth and the longer they stay there, the more of a possibility that apostasy will take place.

Hebrews 10:36-39

36 For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.
37 For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.
38 But My righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.

“For you need endurance” All believers in Jesus Christ need to endure in the truth regardless of the outcome. If you notice, in the same verse it equates endurance with accomplishing God’s will. If we compromise how can you glorify the Lord since it will keep you from doing His will.

“But My righteous one will live by faith” What is faith? Faith, first of all, comes by hearing the Gospel of Christ Jesus as seen in Romans 10:17 which says, So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

Second, faith must continue in God’s Word which feeds it as seen in Matthew 4:4 which says, But He answered, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

Compromising the truth will cause your faith in Jesus to become undernourished.

“and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.” Compromising the truth of Scripture causes the individual’s faith to draw back from the source (God) who strengthens it because it is connected to His Word, thus if one is tossed so goes the other. God abhors a compromiser.

In verse 39, it clearly gives us hope that the Holy Spirit will keep us from compromising the truth and from drawing back away from Christ.

How Deception Works

Satan is always hanging around and ready to deceive you

The Lord spoke to me this morning to share with you guys the working of deception. I would like to show a quick illustration.

Let us say that you walk into an office full of people for either an interview or to speak to a few of them. Immediately they start to reject you and say all kinds of evil against you. You become bewildered by their assessment of your character. You ask them, “where did you get that information about me? Who told you these things because it is not true?”

What happened was that someone got to those people first before you arrived. That person spoke untruth about you as it was the truth. So when you came to see them they already were convinced of the type of person that was said about you.

That illustration is seen in 2 Corinthians 4:4 which says, 4 In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Satan works by blinding a person’s mind which is understood by convincing them that his message or his version of the truth is the correct one. Once a person is persuaded by a false message as the truth, when that which is The Truth comes to them, they will perceive it as false and thus reject the Biblical view of the person of Jesus Christ. Remember, that the person of Jesus is in question here because if you get Jesus wrong, it doesn’t matter which other parts of the Bible Satan allows (without attacking you in those areas) for you to get right because it won’t save you.

Whatever you read online always check them with Scripture to make sure it is Biblically sound. Do not allow yourself to be deceived in some areas of Scripture but meditate on His Holy Word every day to be equipped with a special filter which captures everything that’s harmful to your faith.

Fundamentalism: Holding On To The Word Of God

What is Biblical fundamentalism?

It is the fundamentals or core teachings of the Christian faith which is solely found in Holy Scripture. Without it, you will not be in the truth (in Christ) but will be led astray.

2 Timothy 3:12-17 (emphasis added)

12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, (Satan will send his students like atheists, agnostics, those in the new age religion, humanists, to attack the Word of God and try to steer God’s people away from the truth) 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived (Those who are trying to take you away from God’s Word are pure evil who themselves have been misled, being guided by demonic entities in the spiritual realm, Ephensians 6:10-18). 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (We must stay the course, trusting in God’s Word and living a life of transformation by it, for the glory of God the Father and Jesus Christ). 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work (Why is the Bible attacked continuously? Because it came directly from God and all that is evil will without exception loathe it. Satan’s envoys are trying to destroy that which is eternal because it has the power to bring salvation through faith in Christ to the reader).

Titus 1:9

He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

  • Trustworthy
  • Sound Doctrine (teachings)

The Bible can be trusted 100% of the time. It is trustworthy because it will never lead you astray but will always guide you into God’s truth and righteousness.

Without sound doctrine, you cannot know the real God. It will teach you the nature and character of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will only use Scripture to bring you into a personal relationship with the Son of God, Christ Jesus. Any other type of literature that claims to bring you enlightenment (false truth) will actually bring you into deeper darkness.

Isaiah 8:20

Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

All those opposed to God’s Word are without light but remain in darkness. That is not enough for them to choose to be blind but they go out and try to deceive more souls to be like them, heaping upon themselves more condemnation.

2 John 1:9

Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Those who are hostile to sound teachings found in Scripture are devoid of God. Anyone who follows them will end up in Hell where the fire does not end causing the individual to weep and gnash their teeth in unimaginable pain because they despised and rejected the truth of God’s Word.
