Lying

stop-lying

Being a liar is by far one of the worst characteristics that one can have. No other characteristic besides being a murderer is more like Satan than to be a liar since it is considered his native tongue, meaning everything that spews from his mouth is a half truth. To be a consistent liar is to hate truth and without knowing it, hating Jesus as well because He is the Truth. A known liar will never be taken seriously, and will not be entrusted with anything that’s important to someone’s life. The more your life is filled with lies the more you will convince yourself that, that is your reality.

No one can serve two masters. Either he will serve the Truth (Jesus) or the lie (Satan); you cannot partake of both since the Lord will vomit you out. Either you are committed to one or the other, you cannot tell the truth mixed with lies and be pleasing to the Lord. It would be like someone giving you a glass of water with a drop of cyanide, the cup containing 99% of water and 1% of poison. The question is, would you take a drink from the glass of water containing the 1% poison thinking to yourself the potency has been diluted to the point that it is safe to drink? It will still kill you. No amount of truth can cancel the lie that’s in the mix of what you’re saying. A half truth is a whole lie. One who tells a little white lie is as much a liar as the one who lies about everything, choosing to do Satan’s bidding.

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to Him: 17 arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, 19 a lying witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.

Proverbs 12:22

Lying lips are detestable to the Lord, but faithful people are His delight.

Psalms 101:7

No one who acts deceitfully will live in my palace; no one who tells lies will remain in my presence.

Colossians 3:9

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices

1 John 2:4

The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn’t keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

John 8:44

You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars.

Leviticus 19:11

“You must not steal. You must not act deceptively or lie to one another.

Revelation 21:8

But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Red Flag: When Weed looks too much like Wheat

wheat

This post is to bring to the believer’s attention the seriousness of deception happening in the blogosphere (WordPress). Satan has planted his weeds with participants or with those who are unaware of what’s driving them to post that which they post, the desire that they had come from demons. I came across someone’s blog who claims to be a Christian but they have reblogged a dangerous spiritual landmine. The blog that the person reblogged has a motto which states: “Live every day like it was your last. We live only once.” This motto oozes hedonistic philosophies that teach to satisfy the flesh and to put yourself first since you only live once.

According to scripture, it is condemned as seen in Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.

It is also considered demonic in James 3:14-15 which says, “14 But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth. 15 Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.”

traps

I have a great concern for immature Christians falling prey to Satan’s traps by entering that worldly site thinking it is Christian and having their walk with the Lord weakened by focusing on self rather than Christ. I brought it up to the person who reblogged it but all I got were excuses and a response by their post calling me indirectly as a Pharisee and going as far as implying my counsel was fueled by hatred when in fact it was to warn of the possible pitfalls of laying a snare to believers to blindsight them from focusing on Christ. Such attacks come from none other than the enemy of our souls. Pride is spiritual cancer that can easily destroy a person’s life, weakening one’s faith if not put in check. The reason why God hates pride in a person is that it makes them unteachable and not receptive to rebuke or correction.

Proverbs 16:5
Everyone with a proud heart is detestable to the LORD; be assured, he will not go unpunished.

Why would a so-called Christian reblog a spiritual landmine so that an unsuspected Christian can step on it and ruin their faith in Christ? I know that this site I am speaking of is not the only one out there so as Christians, we must have the Full Armor of God on at all times because you will never know when you will find yourself in a spiritual minefield. Thus my blog’s name and its purpose are to help Christians avoid deception. I love my brothers and sisters in Christ because God has placed love in my heart for the believers and for those who don’t know Christ yet so that I may share the good news with them. I know that no true Christian would intentionally place a landmine (posts that promote self-exaltation) to destroy believers’ faith but only Satan has that desire. We must continue to read God’s Word every day and always be in prayer. By seeking the Lord first He will give us discernment to avoid Satan’s tactics and traps.

We must never be led by our emotions as if that brings us peace. What brings us true peace is Truth as  John 8:32 says, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” If our emotion is not accompanied and aligned with Truth, then it’s deceptive.

Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is really one. You will know them by their fruit. An example would be a sinful lifestyle (no different than the world ) or false doctrine (twisting scripture to fit their own theology and justifying their own sinful behavior).

We are living in unparalleled times where deception is everywhere.

Ponderings: Why do Christians fight each other?

There’s something that I can’t understand.

thinking

Why do brothers in Christ fight with each other on certain understanding on theology issues that are not clear in the Bible (free will, predestination, speaking in tongues, the spiritual gifts)…etc. All the while Satan and his demons sit back enjoying the view watching Christians hate each other and instead of being more Christ-like they are being more demon-like. Don’t misunderstand, Truth is number 1 but when things in scripture are not clear or some Christians who are closer to the Lord will hear the Spirit’s interpretation while the other who is further from Christ will not hear the Spirit clearly and misinterpret, such is the explanation how one passage ends up with two different interpretations from two Spirit filled Christians.

I love doctrine and without correct doctrine pertaining to Jesus, no one can get saved but the doctrine that’s not fundamental, we should seek the Lord for understanding and not the church fathers of the reformation who were fallible men. Jesus didn’t disclose everything in the Bible to us as stated in Deuteronomy 29:29 The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law. We are brothers in Christ because of our faith is solely based on Jesus Christ who is revealed in holy Scripture. At the end, Christians will always have discord with each other until maturity is established in the person. I cannot understand exalting a dead church leader over the other and condemn others who believe otherwise and still say, “I love my brother.” We may fool people but we can’t fool God.
