Protect Yourself From Deception. They Are Everywhere

12 Now the sons of Eli were useless men; they did not know the LORD.

-1 Samuel 2:12, NASB 2020

Some in leadership positions who are supposed to lead the flock of Christ into all truth are themselves worthless for the kingdom of God since they haven’t committed wholeheartedly to Jesus Christ.

The phrase “did not know the LORD” refers to having no relationship with the Living God, Jesus Christ.

Christians who are false do not know Jesus, obviously, so what motivates them to teach others? That desire comes from demonic spirits, who come to them in the guise of the Holy Spirit to trick and deceive, making them think that they are hearing from the Lord Jesus Christ, but are not.

How does God feel about false Christians?

30 Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares, ‘I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father was to walk before Me forever’; but now the LORD declares, ‘Far be it from Me—for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant.

-1 Samuel 2:30, NASB 2020

Jesus will only honor those who do His will, bringing Him glory. False Christians are unable to bring honor to the Lord as they despise the truth and are in opposition to it.

17 And so the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for the men treated the offering of the Lord disrespectfully.

-1 Samuel 2:17, NASB 2020

The fruit of a False teacher produces death to the hearer and themselves. They distort the truth of God’s Word and the way of salvation because they don’t have any respect for His Word. Instead of bringing people to Christ, they secure their damnation.

Without exaggeration, there are many false Christians in WordPress who are pedaling in the same direction as the devil. They end up fighting for the things that the world supports. They are easily manipulated by the enemy, tossing them here and there by his false doctrine in any direction he wants them to go.

14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming

-Ephesians 4:14, NASB 2020

Do not allow yourself to get deceived. Read the Scriptures, pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to protect you from the wicked one, and his deception. Let yourself be led by the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is your filter, which captures false doctrine so that you won’t swallow it. Purify your mind and measure everything with God’s Word.

Do Not Believe Every Spirit, But Test Them To See If They Come From God

“3 As I urged you on my departure to Macedonia, you should stay on at Ephesus to instruct certain men not to teach false doctrines 4 or devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculation rather than the stewardship of God’s work, which is by faith.” -1 Timothy 1:3-4, BSB

False doctrine is the teaching of myths, which is composed of a make-believe reality built upon lies concerning spiritual things like how to obtain salvation and the afterlife.

If you are motivated by speculation with things that are not in the Bible, which is capturing your attention, and with how important is one’s pedigree, you have drifted away from doing God’s work, engaging in false doctrine with the potential of being deceived.

Demonic spirits will always try to get you to go to another source, apart from the Bible, for spiritual insight.

The words that are not italicized are my comments and the ones in italics are the Scriptures.

1 Now the Spirit [the Holy Spirit will only lead you into God’s Word] expressly states that in later times [before the rapture] some will abandon the faith [the Word of God] to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons [through other sources], 2 influenced by the hypocrisy of liars [who are false Christians being used by demons], whose consciences are seared with a hot iron. – Timothy 4:1-2, BSB

Friends, no other Book out there like the Bible is infallible. Every other source that tries to teach you spiritual truths might bring with it spiritual landmines. One wrong move and you can blow up your faith by substituting biblical truth for a lie. The immediate effect will be like a leech attaching itself to one’s faith, to drain it until it is all gone. That is what false doctrine does to a person who accepts the lie as the truth.

Jesus Commands Us To Expect His Return

light and dark1

Luke 12:35-37

35 “Be ready for service and have your lamps lit. 36 You are to be like people waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once. 37 Blessed will be those servants the master finds alert when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will get ready, have them recline at the table, then come and serve them.

The passages above show a Pre-Trib rapture, not a Post-Trib.

“Be ready for service and have your lamps lit.” To shine (lamps lit) is to allow the Light in you who is the Holy Spirit to use or make you busy in God’s work.

“You are to be like people waiting for their master” Christians are commanded to be living a life of expectation, of the return or the rapture of the church. The word “master” refers to Jesus Christ.

so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once.” To open the door by hearing Jesus’ knock suggest for the person to be in a state of readiness (alert) by investing one’s time, and resources in doing God’s will.

Blessed will be those servants the master finds alert when he comes.” The word “bless” also means happy. Happy are those who are being led by the Spirit of God in expanding the kingdom of heaven when Jesus returns.

To have an expectation of the return of Jesus before the Great Tribulation gives a person increased alertness in preparedness by accomplishing His purposes designed for them according to Scripture to bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Full Preterism says that Jesus already has returned and is reigning spiritually, Satan is bound in the bottomless pit, and we are living in the New Earth. Preterism is a belief that deceives the believers in Christ by taking away the hope of their redemption seen in the future return of Jesus Christ.

Luke 21:28

28 But when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”
