Jude 1:6-Demons Cast Into Hell

jude

6 and the angels who did not keep their own position but abandoned their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains in deep darkness for the judgment on the great day.

“and the angels who did not keep their own position” These angels were not the ones who fell with Lucifer in the beginning, before God created men on the face of the earth. They fell in the days of Noah [Genesis 6:1-4] according to 2 Peter 2:4-5 which says, “4 For if God didn’t spare the angels who sinned but cast them into hell and delivered them in chains of utter darkness to be kept for judgment; 5 and if he didn’t spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when he brought the flood on the world of the ungodly”

The fallen angels in Jude 1:6/Genesis 6 were so bad that they received God’s judgment immediately. I believe that these angels are the ones who are mentioned in Revelation 9 as the Locusts. In the Book of Revelation, demons will be released from their prison in hell [abyss] to torment those who rejected Jesus and have the mark of the beast for 5 months.

Honoring Your Father Will Please God And Will Bring You A Blessing

Fathers Day
A father, the protector of his family. Who can come near his children for harm? An earthly father is a picture of our heavenly Father

Ephesians 6:2-3

2 Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, 3 so that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land.

The word honor in Greek has the meaning of a person estimating a price on something they value. If you have something you love, its price will be very high. Honor also means to respect those in high authority, especially one’s father who always look out for their children’s best interest.

The reason why there is a blessing attached to honoring one’s father is that it will teach and prepare the child, in turn, to honor the Father in heaven. If a child or a young adult dishonor their father who they see here on earth, how can they honor the Mighty Father in heaven who they cannot see?

When you honor [obey] your earthly father, your lifespan will lengthen. Why? Because he will teach you to avoid things, people, and places that will help you to protect your life. God will look down from heaven and through your obedience, He will bless you for keeping the Word of God.

Jude 1:5-The People Who God Set Free From Egypt

jude

5 Now I want to remind you, though you know all these things: The Lord first saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe

The audience that Jude wrote to knew Scripture very well, especially the passages he was referring to.

The people that came out of Egypt were two types. Those who believed in Yahweh, the I Am and those who ended up rejecting God by not listening to those who He appointed as leaders [Moses and Aaron]. God’s promise of the new land [Canaan] was not given to the disobedient, but rather to those who held on to His promises and kept His word.

The word “destroyed” means that physically, the wicked died in the desert and never got a chance to enter into the promised land. But, it also means that spiritually they were lost.
