John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
God’s sacrificial love through Jesus Christ is seen on the cross. He took our sentence of death because of His love for us and He gave us the Truth [God’s purpose and plan] to set us free.
John 8:32
You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Many people didn’t like my post: “Can A Christian Commit Suicide And Go To Heaven?”
I know that it was a very hard topic to tackle, but it was Biblical and most importantly, the truth.
When Christians say that a person who commits suicide can still go to heaven, they are making a person who is suicidal to actually end his life for a better one. The reality is that it is wrong, false and unbiblical to teach that.
Jesus came to give us hope and life, to value others and the life He has given us. Jesus gave us life to accomplish His will and to love others with the message of hope [The Gospel]. The thing is that when Jesus becomes our Lord and Savior, nothing can take that hope from us.
Romans 8:35-37
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Can oppression [suicidal thoughts] take us away from the love of Christ? No. Verse 35 does not say that if we give in to that thought, we will be saved, but with the context, it is saying that we will not give in to that sin because Jesus’ love for us will not allow us to be defeated as verse 37 says that we are more than conquerors.
Some topics of Scripture are hard to talk about, but as followers of Jesus, we are obligated to teach the whole instruction of God through the guidance of the Holy Spirit so that the Truth of God’s Word can set people free. We must tell and warn people not to commit suicide but that there is a way out, through faith in Jesus Christ which will make them overcome any obstacle.
1Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Christians are going to suffer physical and emotional pains, but our hope is in Jesus Christ who will never abandon us while we go through our tribulations. That is my hope.
