A verse by verse look, through Romans 1:18-32, to show the time we are living in today. The Great Tribulation is very near, which makes the rapture even closer.
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

We are in a time where God’s wrath is evidently displayed in the world, and it will continue and increase until it comes to its full measure in the Great Tribulation. Godlessness is rampant in the world, especially in America. Secularism has taken the helm and is driving America further away from the Lord into God’s judgment. America and Europe—which Europe has been spiritually dead for a while—has a lifestyle of the flesh that keeps them from being convicted by the Holy Spirit to come to repentance.
19 For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

Even though people cannot see God, who is Spirit, He has left ample evidence of His existence. We can see God’s power and His divine nature—unlimited power and His eternality.
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

See the commentary on verse 19. Since the beginning of time, when God created the heavens (the universe) and the earth, His divine nature, what makes God, can be seen. When you look at the stars, sun, and moon, one realizes that a powerful being created those things. Honest people acknowledge that nothing can’t create something very complex. That’s not including men and how his body works, the land animals, plants, and sea creatures.
To put it into perspective, imagine being stranded on a small island. In a couple of hours, you have managed to walk through it finding nothing, not even a soul. You decide to go back to the beach to your amazement footprints are visible on the sand. Now, you have two decisions to make. Either you follow it to lead you to the person, or you choose to ignore it. By seeing the footprints on the sand, there’s no doubt that there’s a person on the island, even though you haven’t seen him. That is what is meant here, in verse 20. There is so much evidence that you have to consciously ignore it and convince—deceive yourself—that what you see doesn’t mean what your conscience is telling you—that God is real.
Even the natives living in the jungles, who never heard about Jesus Christ and the cross, have no excuse. If they accept the simple fact that a powerful being is made evident because of their existence with the rest of everything they see, then God will reveal Himself to them. God gives people free will.
Imagine you are in a gigantic warehouse without light. You find yourself in the middle of the warehouse, and to your right, there’s an open door with light coming through it. Now, from far away, that light seems small, but if you walk toward it, the light from the door will become brighter. However, if you choose to walk in the opposite direction, the light will get dimmer. The light coming from the door represents the revelation of God. Walking towards it or away from it symbolizes the person’s choice. Either the person seeks the small light (revelation), which points to the existence of God, or chooses to ignore it, and eventually, it will disappear from their mind where they won’t be able to believe and see God in creation.
Today, people are becoming more atheistic in belief and are denying what God has revealed about Himself in creation.
Everything that’s happening is according to God’s Word, and as believers in Jesus Christ, we are protected from head to toe (1 Peter 1:5), with the Full Armor of God from having our faith destroyed.
